16 “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
Jesus shares that, upon His leaving, ( to prepare a place) He will request from the father for the Holy Spirit to enter into His people.
The Holy Spirit, which is the same as Him, the third person in the Trinity.

The Holy Spirit

Not an “it” but a “He” A person
some look at the Holy Spirit as some energy, something to catch, like fishing.

What do we understand about he Holy Spirit?

1. We know that He was part of creation

Genesis 1:2 NASB95
2 The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.
The Hebrew word for Spirit is [Ru-ah] - [ רוּחַ] meaning breath.
Genesis 2:7 (NASB95)
7 Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed (blow out) into his nostrils the breath (nee- sha- ma) of life; and man became a living being.
The nee -sha- ma - breath of life
Psalm 33:6 NASB95
6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host.
And by the Ru-ah of His mouth.
Job 33:4 NASB95
4 “The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
So the Ru-ah of God. (spirit) has made me and the [nee -sha -ma] (breath) of the Almighty gives me life
So in Him is life.
The Holy Spirit is just as much involved with all creation as the Father and Son are.
John 14:17 NASB95
17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

2. We know He is a person

The key words here is “HIM”, know Him ginosko
this verse explains that those who are in Christ know the spirit, because the spirit abide, to stay in them
Jesus promises that the spirit, The Holy spirit
He is the Spirit that gives life.......and He is the spirit of truth
we can grieve the Holy Spirit Eph 4:30
Ephesians 4:30 NASB95
Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
you can grieve energy, you can a person
John 14:18–20 NASB95
18“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19“After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. 20“In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
Jesus promise to not leave us alone.
you are not alone a parentless people.
as the world loses sight of Jesus the king of kings, the alpha and omega,
as the world destroys itself in its own filth, we will remain in Christ.
John 14:21 NASB95
“He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”
has the instruction of God is the one who love Him.
‘if you believe in Jesus, make Him Lord of your life,
if you keep His commandments
You will love Him, and He will love you.
