Stronghold: of Fear

2 Timothy 1:7–9 (KJV 1900)

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

To Be a coward — lack of courage, timidity.

Don’t let fear control your life.

I. Fear leads people to hell.

Revelation 21:7–8 (KJV 1900)

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

III. Fear keeps us from confessing our sins.

a. God is in control.

b. God is powerful.

c. God is love.

d. God is of a sound mind.

e. God is greater than the world.
