Jesus Christ our King

Isaiah 44:6–8 (NKJV)

6 “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.

7 And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me, Since I appointed the ancient people. And the things that are coming and shall come, Let them show these to them.

8 Do not fear, nor be afraid; Have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one.’ ”

God is one

Deut 6:4-5 “4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”

He is the first and the Last, the begining and the end.

God the Father, Yahweh, the everlasting God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Beside him there is no God.

The King of Israel

1 Samuel 8:4–7 (NKJV)

4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah,

5 and said to him, “Look, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.”

6 But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” So Samuel prayed to the Lord.

7 And the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.

1 Samuel 12:12 (NKJV)

12 And when you saw that Nahash king of the Ammonites came against you, you said to me, ‘No, but a king shall reign over us,’ when the Lord your God was your king.

1 Samuel 12:16–17 (NKJV)

16 “Now therefore, stand and see this great thing which the Lord will do before your eyes:

17 Is today not the wheat harvest? I will call to the Lord, and He will send thunder and rain, that you may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which you have done in the sight of the Lord, in asking a king for yourselves.”

The Kingship only belonged to the Lord, He was the King of Israel.

Yet Israel wanted a man that could be their King, who will rule and judge them and go before them.

So God heeded them gave them men who took the office of the Kingship,

Yet God one day will come to take his rightful place as the King of Israel.

Hosea 13:9–11 (NKJV)

9 “O Israel, you are destroyed, But your help is from Me.

10 I will be your King; Where is any other, That he may save you in all your cities? And your judges to whom you said, ‘Give me a king and princes’?

11 I gave you a king in My anger, And took him away in My wrath.

God speaks of the Future when he says “i will be you King”

The King that he gave them in his anger “because they rejected him in asking for a king” he took them away in his wrath because they led his people astray.

So how was the Invisbile God, the eternal Spirit going to be their KIng?

By Coming in the flesh, as a man

1 Timothy 3:16 “16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.”

Jesus Christ is Yahweh manifest in the Flesh, it the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob manifest in the flesh.

Zechariah 9:9 (NKJV)

9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.

His People did not recognise him nor receive as their King

Matthew 21:1–11 (NKJV)

1 Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

2 saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me.

3 And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.”

4 All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:

5 “Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ”

6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.

7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them.

8 And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!”

10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?”

11 So the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.”

The King before Pilate.

John 18:33-38, John 19:1-22.

Pilate was wrong on many things, but there was one thing that he was sure of, and that was that Jesus was the King of the Jews.

It is interesting to note that from the begining of Christ birth it is the gentiles that recognized Jesus as the King

Matthew 2:1–3 (NKJV)

1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem,

2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

The King will Return

1 Timothy 6:13–16 NKJV

13 I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

At the appearing of Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords the only potented will be manifested to mankind.

Revelation 17:14 (NKJV)

14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”

The Lamb (christ), When he return he will return in all his glory, manifesting to the world that he is the King of King and Lord of Lord. The one true God in the flesh.

Zechariah 14:9 (NKJV)

9 And the Lord shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be “The Lord is one,” And His name one.

Jesus Christ our Redeemer

Isaiah 44:6 (NKJV)

6 “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.

Exodus 6:6 NKJV

6 Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am the Lord; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

From the begining God was their redeemer who would redeem his people from the bondage of Slavery.

The LORD is the redeemer

Isaiah 44:24 (NKJV)

24 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, And He who formed you from the womb: “I am the Lord, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;

Isaiah 47:4 (NKJV)

4 As for our Redeemer, the Lord of hosts is His name, The Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 49:26 (NKJV)

26 I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh, And they shall be drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine. All flesh shall know That I, the Lord, am your Savior, And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

God promised that He will redeem his people from Death and Sin

Hosea 13:14 (NKJV)

14 “I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, I will be your plagues! O Grave, I will be your destruction! Pity is hidden from My eyes.

This is in the same chapter where God procalimed that he will be their King.

God will ransom them from the grave, and redeem them from death.

Man in whom God had created in his image was sold over unto sin, death had dominion over him

Roman 5:12 “12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—”

Psalm 49:5–15 (NKJV)

5 Why should I fear in the days of evil, When the iniquity at my heels surrounds me?

6 Those who trust in their wealth And boast in the multitude of their riches,

7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him—

8 For the redemption of their souls is costly, And it shall cease forever—

9 That he should continue to live eternally, And not see the Pit.

10 For he sees wise men die; Likewise the fool and the senseless person perish, And leave their wealth to others.

11 Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever, Their dwelling places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names.

12 Nevertheless man, though in honor, does not remain; He is like the beasts that perish.

13 This is the way of those who are foolish, And of their posterity who approve their sayings. Selah

14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; Death shall feed on them; The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; And their beauty shall be consumed in the grave, far from their dwelling.

15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, For He shall receive me. Selah

A human being cannot redeem another human being, Because they are all under sin and death.

No human sacrfice, or animal sacrifce can redeem another human being.

But the Psalmist spoke prophetically, to whom israel should look for redemption from the power of the Grave, God himself.

How will he redeem Man from death

Isaiah 59:12–20 (NKJV)

12 For our transgressions are multiplied before You, And our sins testify against us; For our transgressions are with us, And as for our iniquities, we know them:

13 In transgressing and lying against the Lord, And departing from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

14 Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter.

15 So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him That there was no justice.

16 He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.

17 For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, And was clad with zeal as a cloak.

18 According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, Fury to His adversaries, Recompense to His enemies; The coastlands He will fully repay.

19 So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

20 “The Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” Says the Lord.

Redeemed by the blood of God

1 Peter 1:18–21 (NKJV)

18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,

19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you

21 who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

The blood of Christ is the blood of God

Acts 20:28 (NKJV)

28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

The prophecies fullfilled

Isaiah 44:21–23 (NKJV)

21 “Remember these, O Jacob, And Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me!

22 I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, And like a cloud, your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.”

23 Sing, O heavens, for the Lord has done it! Shout, you lower parts of the earth; Break forth into singing, you mountains, O forest, and every tree in it! For the Lord has redeemed Jacob, And glorified Himself in Israel.

John 13:26–31 (NKJV)

26 Jesus answered, “It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it.” And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

27 Now after the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.”

28 But no one at the table knew for what reason He said this to him.

29 For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus had said to him, “Buy those things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.

30 Having received the piece of bread, he then went out immediately. And it was night.

31 So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him.

32 If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately.”

Isaiah 52:3–10 (NKJV)

3 For thus says the Lord: “You have sold yourselves for nothing, And you shall be redeemed without money.”

4 For thus says the Lord God: “My people went down at first Into Egypt to dwell there; Then the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

5 Now therefore, what have I here,” says the Lord, “That My people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them Make them wail,” says the Lord, “And My name is blasphemed continually every day.

6 Therefore My people shall know My name; Therefore they shall know in that day That I am He who speaks: ‘Behold, it is I.’ ”

7 How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

8 Your watchmen shall lift up their voices, With their voices they shall sing together; For they shall see eye to eye When the Lord brings back Zion.

9 Break forth into joy, sing together, You waste places of Jerusalem! For the Lord has comforted His people, He has redeemed Jerusalem.

10 The Lord has made bare His holy arm In the eyes of all the nations; And all the ends of the earth shall see The salvation of our God.

Concluding passage

Job 19:23–27 (KJV 1900)

23 Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were printed in a book!

24 That they were graven with an iron pen and lead In the rock for ever!

25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, And that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, Yet in my flesh shall I see God:

27 Whom I shall see for myself, And mine eyes shall behold, and not another; Though my reins be consumed within me.

Job was speaking prophetically that once his vile body was consumed he would see God in the glorious body of Christ whom he has put on.

1 John 3:1–2 (NKJV)

1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
