The Lord Is My Light

Psalm 27:1-6.......

An important review of God’s truth!

The Lord is my Light........It is not merely that the Lord gives light, the truth of this that the Lord is Light.

1 John 1:5 “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”

We can quote this as many times as we want to, but until you have come to the reality that......

We have all sinned and come short of His Glorious Light.......

Isaiah 59:9 “Therefore is judgment far from us, Neither doth justice overtake us: We wait for light, but behold obscurity; For brightness, but we walk in darkness.”

Isaiah was writing of the nations Israel sin.....Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, And your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

This is darkness........!!!!!

Unless you have known this, these verses can be said over and over again and have no meaning!

David is speaking in earthly and fleshly sense.......I will also state that no matter our physical or spiritual condition, God sent Jesus to save us!

These work hand in hand..........Whom shall I fear? If the One True God be for us, who truly can be against us!

The outward holds no power over us in this life under our Light and our Salvation......

2 Corinthians 4:16 “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”

This is great assurance for us.......it was for David

The Lord is our defense! We need no other!

Satan is the great accuser, the great tempter…......all earthly things satan will use to pull us away from the truth of God in Christ!

We have only One defense and it is God’s Truth! We know it from His Word.

In His Truth.....Whom Shall I Be Afraid? This has a meaning of dread or living in terror.

There is nothing to dread! All though it appears to be dreadful.......Our inward man is renewed day by day!

People that have laid all the treasures here on this earth, will dread and fear! They will also try and convince you that there is something to fear!

There is nothing to fear......If you believe in Jesus Christ there is absolutely nothing to fear!

Through, In, & With Jesus Christ our lives with God is settled!

Hebrews 4:13 “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”

God is the only One that we have to do and the only One that can judge......Matthew 10:28 “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

No matter how bad or good the world gets, our lives does not hinge on earthly things, but on our response to God!

Jesus Christ and Him Crucified is our only answer!

If we believe this as true, Light and Salvation will be our only defense!

John 8:12 “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

John 12:35-50.............The Pharisees refused to believe because they were more worried about the outward and the praise of man.....although Jesus performed so many miracles in front of their eyes, yet they would not believe......the outward was more important to them than the inward!

Jesus that He is the Light that come into the world to save.......not judge.....there will be a time when judgement comes, but now Salvation has come through Jesus Christ!

Victory has come through Jesus Christ!!! If we have placed our treasures on this earth, salvation through Christ will never be realized in reality!

There are a lot of discouraging things going on in the world today! Lies is a common commodity amongst our leaders today!

Not sure, how all of this is going to turn out.........but regardless what happens to the US, regardless what happens in your life.......Jesus Christ is our Light and Salvation, only if we believe Him to be that for us!

I cannot obtain it, Jesus is our Light, Jesus is our Salvation and He has freely given Himself to us!

We must believe that He is that, no matter what we see or feel!

I love what is said in Revelation about what it will be like after the New Heaven, New Earth, and New Jerusalem is brought to life........Revelation 22:5 “And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.”

We can live in this reality......as David said......Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Who shall I fear and to whom shall I dread!!! The Lord Jesus is my Light and Salvation!!!

What stirred me up on this was a gentlemen at Bro Bill’s church. Bill was telling me about this gentlemen, that him and his wife was in search of a church and they went to one that turned out the lights. This brother told someone there that he didn’t too much like that, because he was a child of the light, he didn’t live in darkness.

This brought me to Ephesians 5:8-14 again.......I think I read from here this last week...........

Jesus reveals the spiritual! He illuminates life as spiritual! He makes everything that is spiritual discernable. Apart from Christ, everything else is darkness.

That is what is being said by Paul to the Ephesian church............Jesus is the True expose of darkness, might I say He is the only expose of darkness........

But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;

Those that believe in the Person and Complete Work of Jesus Christ is of the Light and their lives, if so lived, exposes darkness!

In this life, all of things will be exposed as unfruitful, of no value........the light/Jesus exposes them!

As I said earlier, Apart from Jesus Christ everything else is darkness.....in our fleshly man/woman that is a harsh reality, because we have placed importance on a lot of darkness......

However, we do not have to fear........because we are of the True Light as John spoke of…John 1:9 “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.”

1 John 2:8 “Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.”

We are of the True Light, Jesus Christ..........this is not some “sharp” or cool saying or phrase that we love to use......this is truth

Light/Jesus exposes all darkness and Jesus is the Only Light of the world......

With Jesus exposing all that is darkness, we have nothing to fear!!!!!
