Psalm 27:1–4 ESV

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall. Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.

A Proper Perspective of God

Theology is important

Knowing God is more than head knowledge

A desire to dwell in the house of the Lord is not born from head knowledge

What Shall My Heart Fear?

A separation in the UMC?

The UMC did not save me or call me to ministry

I am grateful for the UMC, but the UMC is not my salvation

What people think about you?

What can they really do to you?

Everyone wants to be liked, but people are not my salvation

Matthew 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”

Matters of life?

Sickness, money, jobs, the list goes on and on

We don’t throw our hands up and do nothing, but we can walk through it with peace

God the creator of heaven and earth

God is the one our hearts seek after

God of Peace

God of Hope

God of Salvation

God of Healing

God of Armies

Our Heavenly Father
