King Nebuchadnezzar reigned in Babylon for 43 years.
Can you imagine when Nebuchadnezzar conquered the Israelite and carried all of the temple items back to the palace.
It was a sign that he was stronger than the gods they serve.
But something changed over the course of his 43 year reign.
What would take a person who doesn’t believe in God and cause them to proclaim to all peoples, nations, and languages the greatness of God?
The nation of Israel was scattered because of rebellion to God, but God was still at work.
God was drawing the Gentile world unto himself through His righteous children.
“When you focus on your negative situation you miss the opportunity for God’s glory through your situation.”
This is the second time God has come to Nebuchadnezzar with a vision of the future.
But this dream was a little bit different than the first.
The first vision was Political the second was Personal.
The first described the political secession of empire ending with Christ conquering all.
The second is the demise of a prideful king.
Religion is always political, but Relationship is always personal.
We know that the king reined for 43 years in Babylon and we are at the end of his reign.
So God has been drawing Nebuchadnezzar this whole time.
The Draw of Nebuchadnezzar
God allowed Nebuchadnezzar to overtake Israel so he could be overtaken by God.
Chapter One: God Infiltrates the Gentile Kingdoms through his people.
Chapter Two: God reveals the future through visions and dreams.
Chapter Three: God reveals his power to save through the fiery furnace.
Chapter Four: God draws the King to draw the nations.
Africa Trip: God used Alan to win a a village father to the Lord that brought the town to Christ.
The Dream of Nebuchadnezzar
The Pride of Greatness
Being great is great until you forget where your greatness comes from.
By conquering God’s people, Nebuchadnezzar thought he had conquered their God.
King Neb was never really in charge of anything.
The Fall of Pridefulness
He forgot that he was a manager and not the owner.
He was lifted up with pride over what had been given to him.
Pride always comes before the fall.
Examples: Satan, Adam, Nebuchadnezzar, David, and us.
The Plea to Repent
The prophecy of punishment is sure for all who are prideful.
Wrath was for sure coming to Nebuchadnezzar unless he humbled himself.
Wrath is prophesied to all that will not humble themselves.
God’s Grace toward Nebuchadnezzar
Redemption is by God’s grace.
Redemption is for God’s Glory
