Call to worship
Psalm 36:5–7 NKJV
5 Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. 6 Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O Lord, You preserve man and beast. 7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.
Giving
Deuteronomy 15:10 NKJV
10 You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand.

“If you are willing… I am willing.

Matthew 8:1–4 NKJV
1 When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. 2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” 3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4 And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

1. The crowds marveled at the way Jesus taught. The leper went beyond pondering into worship.

Matthew 8:1–2 NKJV
1 When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. 2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
The Word worship means to kneel with ones head pointed to the ground.
Because of His disease, the Leper was considered unclean.
He should not be approaching anybody!
he doesn't come to Jesus to be amazed.
He comes to be healed and restored.
its been far to long since the Church has bowed it self to worship the Lord,
we far to often want to be entertained by the activities of Church, rather than be empowered by intimacy with God.
when was the last time you bowed to God when you needed him to move?

2. Jesus touched him. One touch can change your whole life.

cool will not change my life.
I need to be in the proper place to be touched by God.
the leper was desperate enough to risk his life ( he was dying anyway!) if they stoned him he would only speed the process he was going through.
I don’t need the Lord if I have the flesh that needs more strength.
Proverbs 16:3 NKJV
3 Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established.
Jesus is far to often the last call when he ought to be the first.
as the people of God we should remember that not only is He the God of all things seen and unseen; He is also the God of the people.
Jesus came down off of the mountain. the leper was ready in body and spirit.
the master is in the room. He’s here right now!
the leper said if you are willing. Jesus said I am willing.
He was willing then. He is willing now.
he is willing to save the lost.
Luke 19:10 NKJV
10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
he is willing to heal just like he did in this passage.
he is willing to deliver
one touch changes everything.
Luke 8:44 NKJV
44 came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.
one touch from the master stopped 12 years of suffering the the women with the issue of blood.
Matthew 8:3 NKJV
3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

3. The leper had the fallow the rules after the fact.

Matthew 8:4 NKJV
4 And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
Christ told Him to show himself to the priest.
he told him to give a gift in fulfilment of the law of moses.
when the Lord shows up in your life obedience is one of the main fruits to fallow,
