Discover Revelation Part 26

Today we have another intermission in the Book of Revelation!

• This interlude between the 6th and 7th Trumpet!

• This is the second intermission in the Book!

• In between 6th and 7th Seals from earlier we saw two groups of people during this Tribulation period being Saved!

• Between the 6th and 7th Trumpets

• This Chapter 10 will introduce a mighty Angel!

• In Chapter 11 verses 1-11 will continue this intermission introducing the two witnesses even though they are not really identified!

• Alright, let’s get started!

Revelation 10:1-11

The Angel and the Little Book

1 I saw another strong angel coming down out of heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire;

• Here we see John having a new vision!

• Who do we think this Angel is?

Many say it’s Jesus!

Face like sun, feet like pillars of fire!

• Sounds a little like Chapter 1 in Revelation!

• Let’s see if I can produce some evidence that will make you think differently if you do think it’s Jesus!

Amen?

• Christ never appears in Revelation as an Angel!

True?

Amen

• However it is True that in the Old Testament the Pre-incarnate Christ was seen as the Angel of the Lord!

• But, after He was born taking on humanity then dying on the Cross and was resurrected He received a glorified body!

• We now see Him in the place of great power and glory sitting at Gods right hand on the Throne!

• We never see Him as an Angel ever again!

• When He was here in His humanity He was a man!

• He is remember revealed in the Book of Revelation as Glorified Christ to John!

• He is exalted to the top position!

• This Book of Revelation is known as the unveiling of Jesus Christ!

• Listen, new glories of His person and His power and performance are unfolding in each Chapter in Revelation!

• He is now the One judging the Christ-rejecting earth!

“I saw another strong angel”

• Now listen the another here means just that another Angel!

Of the same kind, Angel!

• Remember the other strong Angel back in Chapter 5:2?

• There was not an argument, it wasn’t Christ!

• Just because of the way this Angel is clothed here one would appear to think it’s Christ!

• This is most certainly another strong Angel bearing the credentials of his exalted position!

• He comes down out of heaven from the presence of Christ!

• You know the One who is in the midst of the Throne talking to John!

• This Angel was dressed in a cloud!

• This Angel makes an announcement that Jesus is coming soon!

• Remember angels announced His first coming and angels will announce His second coming to earth!

• The rainbow is Gods Covenant to man that God will not destroy man again by flood!

“and his face was like the sun”

• What a badge of identification!

This is the signature of the glorified Christ Rev 1:16!

• It does not follow that this one must be the Son of God!

• Think about it when Moses came down from the mountain after being with God His face shine like the sun!

Amen?

• This Angel has just come down out of Heaven from being in the presence of God!

Exodus 34:29

It came about when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the testimony were in Moses’ hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him.

Luke 24:4

While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling clothing;

• So I would say that this Angel is not Christ either!

• But he is what the scripture says an Angel a great and mighty Angel!

Amen?

“and his feet like pillars of fire;”

• This is still part of the Angels uniform!

• This Angel has come to make a solemn announcement of the coming Judgment”

• These are a few credentials and connect him to the person of Christ!

• As His special ambassador!

• The Lord Jesus is definitely running everything right now!

• He is the Judge of all the earth!

2 and he had in his hand a little book which was open.

He placed his right foot on the sea and his left on the land; 3 and he cried out with a loud voice, as when a lion roars; and when he had cried out, the seven peals of thunder uttered their voices.

• So let’s talk about this little book!

• Most scholars are convinced that this little book is non other than then seven sealed scroll that we learned of back in Revelation 5:1!

So I will give some reasons for this conclusion!

Amen?

• This is simply the only book that has been before us, and it is not identified in any other way than it is called “a little book”!

So this could be the same book!

• If it’s the same “little book” it was originally in the hands of God the Father in Heaven Rev 5:1!

• It’s also transferred first to the one with the nail pierced hands Jesus.

He was the only One who could open it!

• The breaking of the seven seals opened the book; and the seven trumpets, six of which have already been blown, are still part of what is in the book!

After Jesus removes the seals He the transfers them to His Angel who then gives it finally to John to eat!

• This is the book of the title deed of the earth, an it contains the judgments of the Great Tribulation.

The display of the Lord Jesus power.

• This book is now open and the judgments are on display here!

• This book is the Angels authority for claiming both the land and the sea!

He puts one foot on the sea and the other on the land claiming then both for God!

Instructions for Israel’s land management!

Leviticus 25:23

‘The land, moreover, shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine; for you are but aliens and sojourners with Me.

• Question: How much land do you think you own?

• Maybe you even have the title to it!

• Think about all the years it was handed down to where you were able to get it!

• Somebody in your past that very land probably stole it from the Seminole Indians!

Amen?

• You paid good money for it you really think it is yours!

Right?

• You know what though?

Your little Title doesn’t go back far enough!

• Listen, brothers and sisters!

Your property really belongs to God!

• No matter who you are!

You haven’t paid God for it!
