Intro
The Earth was void and formless.
Without purpose.
It was a water planet in a solar system floating in the universe.
like every other planet.
Until God came, and He hovered over the darkness.
Imagine the sheer weight of His holiness pounding upon the waters.
God describes this to Job by saying:
when I made the clouds its garment
and wrapped it in thick darkness,
God is preparing to work.
Like a gardener in his God is preparing to remake the Earth fit for His purpose.
This is how we are though.
apart from God, our souls are formless and void.
they sway this way and that.
Like a ship without a rudder our souls reach for anything to bring us stability.
Just like the Earth in need of divine light and order, so are we.
Let There Be Light
The Earth, Formless, Void, and Dark.
In one moment Light breaks forth.
Illuminating the horizon.
For the first known time, Earth is illuminated.
Now mind you here.
the Sun is not created yet.
The Earth stand alone.
How does the Earth work without a Sun?
No very well evidently.
It was need of a Gardener.
this water planet was around but it was useless and devoid and life.
So God comes and He begins working.
How do you get Light without the sun or stars?
I have no idea!
But that’s what God did.
What can we draw from this?
Light does not depend upon a star, it depends upon the word of living God
Pastor, you expect me to believe God made light without a Sun?
Without stars?
Science disagrees you say?
How can you and I choose to trust God when we like it, but deny Him when it makes us uncomfortable.
We want to trust Him in John 3:16
But not in Gen 1:1
Why?
So we can be popular among our coworkers?
so people don’t think your crazy?
News flash, If they don’t think were crazy were probably doing something wrong.
You cannot walk like the world, and expect to win them to Jesus.
God created light. in one 24Hr Day
This is constantly debated in theological circles.
for whatever reason.
I am by no means a master theologian.
But All I see written here and elsewhere points to a single 24hr day.
Not a million years.
One day.
The light rose and the light fell on the first day!
Not millions of mornings and evenings.
There is much to explain here, but I would everyone with the exegesis.
Go ahead and think I’m crazy.
I’m standing on the word of God.
WHat people say, friends of mine, how do you reconcile, 13 billion year old universe with creation?
It doesn’t add up.
Why do we let science drive our theology?
Shouldn't the Word of God drive science?
Why do I care that a bunch of atheists, think God is a liar?
why should that pressure cause me to doubt my king?
It Shouldn’t!
You see in Christianity we believe that the Word is the u;ultimate authority.
The enemy is just picking at that foundation.
Christ Came to Bring Light to Our Dark World.
