Nimro
This figure is associated with the founding of the greatest cities of Mesopotamia—Babylon, Uruk, Akkad, Nineveh, and Calah
John D. Barry, Douglas Mangum, et al., Faithlife Study Bible (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2012, 2016), Ge 10:8.
Hardened hearts of people who are descendent of Noah and his children built the town and tower to name themselves on the earth rather than to honour God. Using the word, “Let us-: Trinity. God’s unity and human unity are great; however, the problem is this unity and agreement for what? The unity produce good or evil?
All were able to communicate in one language is fantastic to be one and easy to work together; however, if people use the blessing for evil, is it still a blessing or a trap of sin? Again men want to be a god and are against God. the unity was for their reputation, not God. Are you building up your own Babel or building up your life for Christ?
God came to see what it looked like and saw their evil hearts and action. God knows that if He leaves them to do what they want, they will never stop evil and against God. God made a covenant not to destroy humans with flood and gave the rainbow a symbol of the promise. God made the language different, so they should stop building the tower. It was God’s grace to make them stop sinning.
