2 Corinthians 5:16-17
How do we view people?
Living in a hindu idolatrous context can be very discouraging
Having family still follow the religion of dead idols can be very disheartening
Paul instructs us not to look according to the flesh
There is something greater and more powerful than the flesh
The Flesh is powerful and Satan has deceived many
However, the power of the gospel is greater

Power of the Gospel is in the work of Christ

“We had known Christ after the flesh”
He became flesh for us
Hebrews 2:9-18 Became like his brethren
He is the great high priest who offered himself as the sacrifice, once for all
Through death, he became the firstborn of the Living
“now know we him no more after the flesh”
he was raise in newness of life as victor over death, sin and satan
Colossians 1:12-20 through Christ, God brought reconciliation of all things

Power of the Gospel to completely change

Old things are passed away
A complete forgiveness of sins
If you are a child of God you are righteous in God’s sight
Romans 5:17-21 unto righteousness
Every and All sin- even the chief of sinners
1 Timothy 1:15-16 an example
All things are become new
New nature
New desires
New life
servants of God rather than of sin

Power of the Gospel to change our perspective

We no longer see people after the flesh
The gospel saved me, it can save anyone
The gospel saved Judaizer Paul it can save your devote hindu father, or uncle or grandmother
Look at people through the lense of the gospel
Example of going to the village changing my perspective of Nepali culture
