Genesis 15:17 (KJV)
17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
Exodus 14:20 (KJV)
20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.
I only use the Pronoun "It" because the Bible does, but we need to remember this cloud and fire was the Angel of God which went before the camp of Israel verse 19
It Provided Protection
Gave Darkness to the enemies Gave light by night to "these"
I'm glad God can give light in the night. Precedent for Protection
Children of Israel (The Plagues, the Cloud etc) Gideon and his few hundred David & Goliath Daniel in the Lion's Den Hebrew Boys in the fiery furnace Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. I heard the testimony of Nassar a Pakistani Muslim who converted to Christianity a powerful testimony, but he told the story of a young Syrian kid (kindergartener) drew a picture with crayons of Jesus on the cross. He said, he didn't know who the man was, but that he had a dream of him and God said he was the man who would stop all the bombs. It Pioneered A Path - A path right through the sea - a way where there seemed to be no way. I love that song, "God will Make A Way, where there seems to be no way, forever he is faithful…" It Produced A Prevailing Victory
The victory wasn't just the cloud and fire
Nor the parting of the sea Nor the walking on dry ground But beginning at verse 24, the troubling of the Egyptians in the morning watch and their ultimate destruction.
I want us to understand this morning, God doesn't always remove the enemy, or thorn in our path, but he will give you either power to overcome, or the grace to endure. You will also notice it is not you alone, but someone is there with you, someone has come between.
One Man and God can move the highest mountain
One man and God can span the deepest valley
One man and God are always in majority
Lord let me always be that one with God
Hear the Call of God to everyone who bears his name To spend much time alone with Him in prayer Ask seek and knock it shall opened unto you
Just trust in God
One man and God are always in majority
Noah stood with God and saved his household while the whole world perished
Abraham stood with God and became the father of many nations
Job stood with God and gained many times the wealth he began with
Joseph stood with God and saved his people from starvation
Moses stood with God and led millions out of a land of bondage into a land of prosperity
And what shall we say of the martyrs who were killed and received an instant reward
And the saints of all ages who suffered and died to give us an eternal heritage
Who wondered about being destitute afflicted and tormented over mountains thorugh deserts and dark places and yet this world was not worthy of them, these all died in the faith and alone yet not alone for they stood with God, and now forever with God they shall share the bliss of their eternal reward.
So when persecutions try to dim reality
And akeptics mock and shun God's holy word
Lift up your eyes above the raging multitudes
You're not alone, You stand with God.
