Chapter 3 Big Idea: Your Target… Know God.

Intro:

Have you ever ran a race and got off the path? (This happened to me once)

Paul is going to give an analogy of Life as a race, and the prize at the end of the Race is Jesus.

Next week we are going to talk about what it looks like to pursue the prize but this week we are going to discuss what things can knock us off the path...

Transition:

Gnosis ( To know and understand)

What distracts us from our target… to know God (or finish line): 3:1-7

False teaching

Points us to something that is not God

often The Teachers not aimed at the same thing you are...

confidence in the flesh

Paul puts no confidence in the flesh… neither should you

How do we pursue our target ? : 3:8-11

Jesus:

Suffer the loss of all things... 8

Know God

The race doesnt stop there…

Start running....

Landing: A life on pursuit for God, empowered God, leads to Resurrection.... and you aint ressurected yet.
