Setting Your Heart

1 Chronicles 22:19 (KJV)

19 Now setyour heart and your soul toseek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.

Preparation (Purposeful Plan) There was a desired end - something David wanted done, he wanted to

bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD home. Until the temple was built, the tabernacle and its furnishings had been at Gibeon, while the ark was housed in a temporary tabernacle that David had built on Mount Zion in Jerusalem. Finally they would be together again on Mount Moriah, the revered site where Abraham and his son had long before met with God (Genesis 22:1-19; 2 Chronicles 3:1).

1 Samuel 7:3 (KJV) 3 And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines. Matthew 18:7-9 (KJV) 7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast themfrom thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

Seek the Lord your God - Go after God, this is implying a complete following of all of you seeking all of HIM.

Action (Intentional Follow Through) It's not enough to just prepare, you have to get your hands dirty and do something

Arise - Get up - Why sit we here till we die? Build - your Body is the Temple of the Lord - does it need repaired or rebuilt? I know a man who can!!! Bring - Now they were to bring the Ark of God representing the Presence of God. We can't bring Him but we can invite Him, make a place where He is at home.
