LET’S PRAISE - PSALM 150:1-2
INTRO: CELEBRATION OF 17 YEARS OF GOD’S FAITHFULNESS.
Praise = express warm approval or admiration of. Spouse; children; family members; friends; associates; strangers.
When we speak of God = offering gratitude in words or song, or other acts of worship.
WE ARE COMMANDED TO PRAISE THE LORD - 1
WE ARE COMMANDED TO PRAISE THE LORD - 1
E - Praise the Lord is not a request, it is a command = an order given intended to be obeyed.
R - The command is given by the king; the leader; to all the people of the kingdom.
The command is extended to all; In the sanctuary; in the heavens.
A - As Pastor - Praise God for/TO WIFE; CHILDREN; XRDS LEADERS; ANNIV COMMITTEE; YESTERDAY’S PARTICIPANTS; MEDIA TEAM; USHERS; ADMINISTRATION MINISTRY; CHRISTIAN FORMATION MINISTRY; ENGAGEMENT MINISTRY; FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY; WORSHIP TEAM; DANCE TEAM;
SO, Let’s Praise the Lord!
WE ARE COMMISSIONED TO PRAISE THE LORD - 2
WE ARE COMMISSIONED TO PRAISE THE LORD - 2
COMMISSIONED = the AUTHORITY to perform a task or certain duties.
E - God has AUTHORIZED you to give Him Praise. Think about that.
R - Not the rappers; not the politicians; not the evil-doer. YOU! Those redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
Why are YOU Commissioned to Praise Him?
A - For His acts of POWER! Saving Power; Keeping Power; Providing Power.
For His Surpassing Greatness - Greatness to Empower (feeding community); clothing community; political influence; global impact.
SO, Let’s Praise the Lord!
CLOSE: On this 17th Anniversary, Let’s Praise…Praise The Lord!
Because we are COMMANDED to give Him praise - Offering of Gratitude;
Prov 7.2 “Obey my commands and live!
Jn 14:15 “If you love me, obey my commandments.”
Because we are COMMISSIONED to give Him praise - Chosen.
Mk 16:15 “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”
SO
v.6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
