We’re gonna make something really different, really peculiar.

Something that will make people ask, “What’s that all about?”

We’re gonna make a silly Balloon Hat (Slide)

I’m asking Ms. Elise to be my victim, ummmm, i mean volunteer.

(Walk thru making the hat)

See, when wearing this balloon hat, Ms. Elise stands out, she is different than everyone else.

Friends, as followers of Jesus christ, we should be the same.

Let me read from 1 Peter, chapter 2, verse 9. (Slide)

1 Peter 2:9 NIrV

9 But God chose you to be his people. You are royal priests. You are a holy nation. You are a people who belong to God. All of this is so that you can sing his praises. He brought you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Now, Peter reminds us just how special we are in God’s eyes and we should shine His love to all around us.

Just like this Balloon Hat I made. If someone asks what’s up with that hat, she can share that Pastor Joe made it for her and he’ll make you one too if you ask him.

Kids, Jesus wants you to choose Him, to ask Him to forgive your sins and follow Him. To be so different that people will ask about your love for Jesus and then you can share with each of them about Jesus and His love for them and what they need to do to follow Him.

As _________ comes to pray, I want to let you know that I’ll be at Sundaes on Sunday making these fun Balloon Hats for those wanting one.
