1. The Traits of worldliness
a. A great desire for earthly things (lust)
b. A great desire for earthly approval
c. A great desire for self-pleasure
d. A great desire to rewrite God’s word to fit your lifestyle
e. A great desire to over-indulge in entertainment, recreation,& frivolity
2. The Tell – tale signs of worldliness
a. Lack of desire or discipline to pray
b. Lack of desire or discipline to read God’s Word
c. Lack of desire to fellowship with the Church
d. Lack of desire to see other’s saved
e. Lack of desire to give for the cause of God
3. The home of worldliness
a. Friendship (1 John 2:15 uses the word “Love”) with the world will not work.
b. Friendship (love) are affectionate terms
i. They speak of relationship & camaraderie
ii. Affections are located in the seat of the soul (The heart)
1. The home of worldliness in a person’s life is not on the outside, but is found inside the heart. (I have made similar statements throughout this series but I want us to understand that is where worldliness resides in an individual. It then makes its way out though our attire, attitudes, and articulated in our conversations.
