Child Dedication

Good morning! Today we have some of our Oasis family coming to dedicate their children to the Lord. We know Jesus placed great value in children when others did not. The bible shows us this in Mark chapter 10.
Mark 10:13–16 NLT
13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. 14 When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” 16 Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.
At Oasis we believe that this is as much for the parents and our church as it is for the children. We believe that God has a plan and purpose for these precious children and that it will come to pass. We are believing for Gods blessings on their lives.
Today, this is not making our children into christians, but what we are committing to as parents and the church family is:
To do all that we can to help these precious children as they grow, come to know and follow Jesus Christ as their Saviour.
Psalm 139:13–14 NKJV
13For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
Psalm 139:16–18 NLT
16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. 17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! 18 I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!
We are praying Gods blessing into their lives
We can believe as parents and the church that His plan for them will be worked out
And that one day they will understand His immense love for them
Question:
Parents will you commit to with Gods help and the help of your church family to raise your children in a Godly home of love and peace, to raise them in the truth of Gods intruction and disciplin and to incourage them to one day trust Jesus Christ as their saviour and Lord?
Answer:
If you do, say we do
Pray and dedicate the children.
