4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!
Shema = hear
The proclamation upon which Western civilization is built.
The proclamation upon which our knowledge of God is founded.
Everyone, according to Romans 1 is born inherently with the knowledge that there is a God and that He is one.

A spirit is incorporeal
Does not consist of material or matter.
It does not have flesh and bones.
Mankind has a spirit but the spiritual part of man is not the fleshly part of man
The scripture says that angels are spirits as well.
But there is one overarching Spirit who is the creator.
As a Spirit, God needed no beginning.
The material world is the only thing that needs a beginnings and endings.
The spiritual world is eternal.
He had not father or mother. He just eternally exists.
The term I AM that I AM means that God is the eternal self existing one.
All of the reference to God found throughout the scriptures indicate eternality.
This is why He knows the end from the beginning
Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end....
Exists outside of flesh, time, and space.
While He manifests Himself inside of those things, He also simultaneously exists outside of what we can see.
None of the earthly constrictions that we try to put upon God … they are all put there by our minds and not by his omnipotence and omniscience
Millions can call upon God at one time. And God being an omnipotent spirit can hear them all, process the all, and answer every prayer.
God is absolutely numerically one.

The Bible repeatedly calls God the Holy One
25 “To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One.
14 “Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you,” says the Lord And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
16 You shall winnow them, the wind shall carry them away, And the whirlwind shall scatter them; You shall rejoice in the Lord, And glory in the Holy One of Israel.
20 That they may see and know, And consider and understand together, That the hand of the Lord has done this, And the Holy One of Israel has created it.
Israel was willing to die for the belief in the absolute oneness of God. One singular deity.
3 For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
We know Jesus is our Savior… Holy One took on the form of a man and became our savior.
14 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “For your sake I will send to Babylon, And bring them all down as fugitives— The Chaldeans, who rejoice in their ships.
15 I am the Lord, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King.”
11 Thus says the Lord, The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: “Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me.
4 As for our Redeemer, the Lord of hosts is His name, The Holy One of Israel.
So this identifies Jesus as the one God in flesh. Not a secondary being of any sort.
17 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.
5 For your Maker is your husband, The Lord of hosts is His name; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth.
We are the Bride of Christ.....
There is absolutely only One God
10 Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously with one another By profaning the covenant of the fathers?
A certain man came to Jesus and said, I want to know
28 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?”
29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
What is the greatest? He wasn’t asking which was the first commandment. He already knew that.
30 since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.
6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.
The father and the incarnation of the father...
6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
You don’t get a second spirit
5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,
James sounded more like an OT prophet at times...
19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!
If you want to be a devil chaser, you better be a one god jesus name holy ghost filled apostolic
Because you’ve got that one God in you who kicks the Devil out of heaven.

The demons
That’s the reason the Devil hates us, and is trying to stop you from getting to the house of God.
Because he knows that if we can unleash that one God in our lives, that He’s an unstoppable force.
Satan can’t stop it
None of his minions can stop it.

Very important
You may not be worshipping an idol ...
But anything you put in your affections ahead of God....
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Here is the commandment against making idols.
Now if you are Amish or Mennonite you would not want your picture taken.
Because they don’t couple verses 4 and 5 together.
Because they don’t want a likeness....
Don’t see that it’s talking about idols.
God Himself said in making the Tabernacle to make likeness of a cherubim

But don’t bow down to them.
You can make the application of the spiritual principle....
If you will be in the woods at 4 am but can’t get up to pray.
If you’ll spend all day Saturday out on the lake and then get mad because church goes a few minutes longer than you think it should, maybe something has become a god in your life.

Possibly something has become a god in your life.
Generational Curses
Your a new creature
Generational curses are made void by the new birth.
even though he will try to come and retake territory he has no legal right....
Satan is a legalist, adversary, lawyer.....
Generational curses are void in Jesus Christ.
7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
We normally, here in the West, say that that means cursing, and it does, but if you do a scriptural study on this.
It means, “don’t be called by the name of the Lord, but act the way the world acts, because your taking the name of the Lord in vain.
Vain means worthless
It is of no value to you....
When you go down in the waters in Jesus name, if you have not repented of your sins, and you go down in that water, your taking the name of the Lord in vain.
Your sins are not remitted.

All kinds of peer pressure....
We are not going to bow down to the idols of this world.
Be like Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego - “It’s not even a question”
Most of us collapse under peer pressure… but they also were burn pressure.....
They were in
Jesus talking to a Samaritan women, and had to tell her, you worship you know not what.
22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
God will accept worship of other people,
But you know what you worship, and God wants your worship....

10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.
28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

Sadly Satan tries to misdirect our Worship....
4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake.
6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
We find the Glory of God,,,, in the face of Jesus Christ

Pray for somebody that God will give them a true revelation of Who He is.
We can only be like Him as we see Him as He is.....
