The next chapter in 2 Peter, while still both feisty and fiery, contains some of the most encouraging verses in Scripture. It is a reminder that God is fully in control as he carries out a cosmic, yet detailed plan. He has not abandoned the world to its devices – he is just incredibly patient, while more and more are saved by the gospel. So, Peter urges us not to forget God’s powerful word in these matters, but to remember, recall and remind each other (and others), over and over again.
