Ano ang kinalaman ng fourth petition sa naunang tatlo?

Even asking for our needs must have a God-centered perspective.

It must flow from a desire to see the holiness of God, the kingdom of God, and the will of God being manifested in all the earth.

Ang paghingi ng “pang-araw-araw na tinapay” ay hindi magiging makasarili at ito ay magiging kalugud-lugod sa Diyos kung natututunan na natin ang unang tatlong hiling sa Lord’s Prayer.

What is the fourth petition?

Give us today our daily bread.

That is: Provide us with all our bodily needs so that we may acknowledge that you are the only fountain of all good, and that our care and labor, and also your gifts, cannot do us any good without your blessing.

Grant, therefore, that we may withdraw our trust from all creatures and place it only in you.

Ano ang ika-apat na pagsamo?

Bigyan Mo kami ngayon ng aming kakainin sa araw-araw.

Na ang ibig sabihin ay: Ipagkaloob Mo sa amin ang lahat ng aming pangangailangang pangkatawan nang sa gayon ay kilalanin namin na Ikaw lamang ang tanging pinagmumulan ng lahat ng mabubuting bagay, at na ang aming pag-iingat at pagsisikap, at pati na ang Iyong mga kaloob, ay hindi makagagawa ng kabutihan sa amin nang wala ang Iyong pagbabasbas.

Kung kaya’t ipagkaloob Mo sa amin na talikuran namin ang pagtitiwala sa lahat ng mga nilikha at ilagak lamang ito sa Iyo.

For God desires that we should take unto ourselves the assurance that when he gives us these things he also grants unto us the privilege of enjoying his gifts.

God desires that we should use his gifts, not as thieves and robbers, but cheerfully and with thanksgiving.

Give us as much bread as is sufficient for us—give us so much of what is necessary for the support of life as every one of us needs, to serve thee and our neighbor in our several callings in life.

GI Williamson: “This does not mean that we should not work diligently to improve our condition.

But it does mean that we are not to murmur and complain if we have less than someone else does, as if God had withheld something that we had coming!

No, the truth is that even if we only have enough—with nothing to spare—we must still say that we have received, out of the mercy and kindness of God, what we did not merit.”

John MacArthur: “The schedule of God’s provision for His children is daily.

The meaning here is simply that of regular, day-by-day supply of our needs.

We are to rely on the Lord one day at a time.

He may give us vision for work He calls us to do in the future, but His provision for our needs is daily, not weekly, monthly, or yearly.

To accept the Lord’s provision for the present day, without concern for our needs or welfare tomorrow, is a testimony of our contentment in His goodness and faithfulness.”

Mayaman ka man o mahirap, we pray that God will use us to meet others’ needs.

Hindi tayo binibigyan ng biyaya ng Diyos upang maging tagatanggap lang, kundi upang maging pagpapala din naman sa iba.

Hindi lamang naman sa pera tayo makakatulong para sa nangangailangan.
