But I hope we do a better job than I did a leading that song.

All right. It's all right with saying where we've been studying.

The Life of Christ. What should I do? If you're thinking about that, this can kind of throw you out of sync a little bit because we're used to doing sermons like this one.

Right before Easter.

So, but we're just we're just chronologically going down the list.

rummy looking today at, Matthew 21:1 through Lavin there's four, four gospels here, Mark 11 1 through 11, Luke 19:29 through 44 and John 12:12 through 19. That's an awful lot of. Versus. But most of them are the same. There are a few variations in each account about Christ triumphant entry.

And my screen is black up here.

Okay, she want it.

Call or what we're really looking at right now is like the final week of Christ's life.

We know that. So far, we're looking. Problem with Christ. And he's and he's cross the end of Jericho, and he's and he's eating with the kids, he's gone to the Bethany and he had the dinner there at at the house of Simon the leper. and now,

Yeah, we're still losing his HDMI hook up. Where

My notes are supposed to be on this screen here.

Yeah, I don't know. It's just coming in and going coming and going away Sunday afternoon after after that. That Mia and where Mary anointed Jesus. Then the next day,

Black.

On Sunday afternoon.

Please stay. Jesus decided, you know, you take a stroll towards Jerusalem.

Nobody said that all his disciples were there. Nobody said, I'll take a rain. Check on that. I don't, I don't think I want to go, you know, but could you bring me back like a kosher? Everything bagel?

Which is what we kind of have a tendency to do when Christ calls us to come with him. You know, the last time we'll see, you know, I like you and everything but could you just bring me back something? Hi. I don't want really go. I don't want to have to go to town. It's hard to get up and go to church this morning. I'll let you know. But everybody there, and what I like to call the dynamic. Dozen wanted to go. They wanted to go where Jesus was going and we should want to go where Jesus is going.

When you be great. if we followed him, every chance we got

We jumped up and follow Jesus. No, no more excuses to stay home.

So many times we make excuses why we're not going to jump up and follow Jesus. We're not going to jump up and go to church. And once we make that first, excuse, you know, It's so much easier to make that second excuse. Where are, you know, I'm just really not feeling up to it. I got a bone in my leg. No answer. I must going to stay home today. Any next week, you know. Well, now I got a bone in my leg and more I just got bones all over my skeleton. So, I'm just going to hang out and every day, it just gets easier and easier to make an excuse, and you draw farther and farther away from God. But instead, these guys jumped up,

I said let's go. You're going, we're going. India and Saudi Arabia other people. There's no telling how many people follow damn out of Bethany that day and he's walking off towards Bethpage.

Which is.

Probably. Within a mile or so of Bethany, it's only two miles from Bethany to Jerusalem.

And then they're both near.

Not all of it. Looks 1929 through 34, tell us when he approached a fade and Bethany near the Mount that is called all of that. He sent two of the disciple saying going to the Village ahead of you. they're as you enter, you will find that therefore blank out now have to start reading up here. You'll, you'll find an ass and a cold.

Come on.

Guidon.

There is UNR. You will find a Colt. I'd always no one has yet at has ever said. I'm tired and bring it here. If anyone ask you, why are you untying it yours? You'll say, the Lord has needed it. So those who were who were sent away and found it just, as he told them, it's owner said to them, why are you untying the cult? They said, the Lord has need of it. Be great. If we whenever somebody told us the Lord has need of that.

We just let it go. Whenever I heart, the Lord has need of that. if we just gave it over to the Lord, That's how we should be looking at thing.

So anyway, one of the points is made here by the fact that Jesus said, hey go get this car right, he didn't have a telephone to call ahead. I don't think say, hey have this cult setting there. I'm going to send somebody to get it.

Is he already told somebody to have it sitting there. They wouldn't ask why those guys are getting the cold with it. But as soon as the guy said, the Lord has need of it. They knew what they knew it was for him. I didn't question it. He foretold that he has the power of knowing what what's going to happen, what has happened, why it happened when it'll happen will happen to all those things in. Our life Christ knows,

You look here. You can see that they were they were moving up from Bethany. The cult probably came from Bethpage.

Why did he send them to get a cold? well, when they brought it back,

they threw their own coats on top of it.

And set Christ upon the cult. Now, Bethpage in Destiny are both associated with the Mount of Olives. Bethany means the house of dates and figs.

Don't know if you know that or if you wanted to know that. But now, you know, it was, it was the home of Lazarus and his two sisters and it was situated on the Eastern, slopes of the Mount of Olives in about two miles east of Jerusalem at the time of the event. Recorded, hear Jesus. And his disciples were getting close to Beth age. Now, that means the house of unripe figs. I don't know why you would name.

Name a place, the house of unripe figs but it kind of tells me that it's not a very big place. No. It's a small place and nobody knows for sure where it was now, we kind of know what what path they took from Bethany to Jerusalem because it was always the same path, you know, but we don't really know where along that. Pass at that page was was located.

Vinny from Oklahoma. K.

Are we going to fit the horse or donkey?

Horse course, we love our horses and we'd be embarrassed to ride a donkey in a parade. Unless maybe, you know, we were like clowns or at on a Shriners hat or something. Yeah. There's a lot of symbolism surrounding the event of Jesus entry into Jerusalem and Jews normally Associated donkey with royalty.

Your kings in Concord Road donkeys are mules. A donkey that was to be written. Royal by a royal personage, had to be one. Better never been worked before. So it couldn't have been in the field. Plowing. It couldn't have been hauling loads, okay? For Jesus sent them after a cult. They brought the coat back.

And as opposed to a horse was and it was an indication that a king was coming, and he was coming in peace. Because your ride horses store, don't you to battle?

But Christ. Was royalty signified by riding upon a donkey and he was coming in peace. Signified by the same thing.

The obvious reason for Jesus to enter inside your way was a press upon the minds and to all posterity. The spiritual nature of his kingdom that is nature was not of this world was not, he was not going to go in there and flavor almonds.

He came in peace, he came humbly. It came giving of himself, not not bragging. Not carrying on. The other reason for the coat. What's up? Because it was satin Zakaria 9 verse 9.

Rejoice greatly o Daughter of Zion shout in Triumph, though. Daughter of Jerusalem, behold, your king is coming to you. He is just and endowed with salvation, humble, and mount it on a donkey. Even on a Colt, the foal of a donkey So that tells you right there.

He's fulfilling the prophecy.

from the Old Testament where they said, this is how Their salvation would arrive in Jerusalem.

Drive me crazy. Larry's, right? You told me this morning, I made my foot too, much riding on my slides, and I can't read it all the way back there.

so anyway,

Christ was coming. He was humble. He was a king.

And as he was going along, they were spreading their own culture.

Clothing your nose day. But yet they were throwing it on the ground for this donkey to walk on and there was spreading Palm leaves. And as he was preaching, the top of the Mount of Olives. About ready to start on the way down, the whole crowd of the disciples, begin to praise God, joyfully with a loud voice. For all the Miracles, which they had seen seen people being healed. They seen people raised from the dead. Hey scene. The blind made to see the death made it here.

Where he'll?

Well, they were doing that some of the Pharisees got on his case, right?

If you need to put a stop to that, you need to tell them to stop is they said, rebuke your disciples, and Luke 1939 is rebuke your disciples, but Jesus answered, I tell you if these become silent, the stones will cry out. So what do you sell? Is going to say that Christ is here. The king is here. I am coming. So, even if he told him.

And he got up to the top of the Mount Olive.

Passing through an area. 22, Peaks come up in the, in the pathway goes right between the two feet, but the top of that area is about 250 feet higher than the Temple mount. So is less than a mile away from the temple. He can look from the top of the hill right down on Jerusalem. He can see

Zion, he can see the Golden Gate with your inner to go in there. All right.

At the holy city might have looked something like this minus, all these buildings in the front row down here, cuz this is what it looks like today. This is the Golden Gate. This is the gate through which Jesus would have entered on his way to the temple. This is sealed up now.

but when he saw that,

He went insane and Luke 19 41 through 44. He said, Lost it again. Get over here.

If the city and wept over it, but now they are HID from nine eyes. For the day shall come upon me, that the enemy shall cast a trench about the and Cover 3 round and keep me on every side and she'll lay the even with the ground and my children within me, and they shall not leave the one stone upon another because it's not the time.

Visitation, they knew not. When Christ was a ride, they knew not when God would visit them through the form of Christ, they knew not when he returned and so they did not prepare themselves. Do we make that mistake today?

Many, many people in the world, cease to prepare themselves for the return of God. Macy's to prepare themselves for their departure from the Earthly domain.

Because ain't no not when it's going to happen.

The fact is we need to always be prepared. They needed to be prepared. What a great thing about this.

even though this was foretold in Zakaria 99,

in Christ, you know, they had your warning That Christ was going to return that God was going to return is going to their team was going to ride in upon a donkey. They knew it.

But Jerusalem. Did not recognize.

This time. They wanted the great warrior to come but it shows you how much Jesus cares and emphasized. Empathizes with the things, we go through that. He's texting at time at the top of Mount Olivet to say. These words, don't we?

For the city of God. Because he knew even though it has been prophesied, that he would come and great Triumph and it said, he would know peace. It wasn't peace. They wanted. And when they rejected that he knew what the outcome For Jerusalem would be.

I mean, if you knew something bad was going to happen to your kids, wouldn't you leave? Car seat. We always do. We losing someone? We love we wait for them. and he's losing someone, he loves

this is the Golden Gate here.

Jesus entered Jerusalem and came into the temple. Remember there still?

Say.

But King praise him. What are fired up? He's here. He's going to fix this mess. I still think he's going to be this great. King is going to deliver them from the Roman tyranny.

So, they've been expecting us and they've been expecting it for hundreds of years cuz he didn't even understand your own.

Bible their own in the Old Testament. That did not understand the type type of Savior that was coming. The type of Salvation that was coming. They didn't understand and therefore they didn't earn it. Enter Jerusalem in Mark 11:11 and came into the temple. And after looking around at everything,

He left.

I looked around and said, I'm out of here.

What do you think? I did for them? He left for Bethany with the 12 since it was already late in the day. How do you think that made him people feel? They were hyped up. The king is coming, we're going to get Deliverance, no more Roman rule. He wants a new Temple. Expecting declaration about how he's the king and he's going to rule and he's going to deliver them.

He turned around and headed back out to where you just came from.

So I think probably at that point right there. It's kind of weird.

people started doubting cuz you mean we went from a state where

Roughly. You know, I got some from some of the Roman records had for this particular event. They had slaughtered. 250000 lamps. All goodness. How much can you eat? For Passover. So we're not talking lining, the streets and Cherry. We're talking thousands of people that just a minute ago. We're cheering Jesus and waiting for his every word about how he was going to be their King and deliver them. Instead, he walks in and looks around. Walks back out.

Started to swing those same people. The Scream. Barabbas, give us Barabbas.

Or at least. you know, that the priest Pharisees Use app. Against him, he didn't do nothing for you or just a few minutes ago when he was coming up the aisle. They were. In distress because the people were following Jesus. Now, they're going to turn that around, but Jesus is just done. They're going to turn around and use that against him in the days to come.

but,

He knew that.

He knew how it was going to turn out when he was on the hill.

Praying for Jerusalem.

he knew how it was going to turn out when he got up that morning and started his route to Bethany Because he knows.

He knows.

Everything before it happens because he's seen it happen. He knows.

In a few days. He will die.

He knows that he's not the kind of Savior, these people want. And he knows that he has to let them suffer. For that.

But what he did. When he came there as he proved. That he is all-powerful because he could tell you what's going to happen. You know, they had all knowledge. He proved it proved that he is humble. It proved that he has the bearing of a king. Has he wrote in like a king?

Approve. That is also all caring. And loves his children.

our question today is Can you prove any of those things? Towards him. Are we doing what it takes to do that?

Jesus is all things.

To those who seek him, he's all things. For those that love him and follow his word and carry out his Commandments.

You know, are you there for him? When he calls for you? Are you ready to get up and go? Like, the disciples were

Just drop everything. Let's go. Follow Jesus. That's what he asked of you. Are you doing that?

Do you hear him when he calls? He went for Zion.

Give him a reason to Rejoice for you.

He rejoiced for you, if you hear what he's got to say here, God's word. if you believe, In what? What you hear of God, what you read of God, what you study and find out about Jesus? if you repent from all those things that you did because you didn't know any better

If you can fax. Jesus Christ as your lord and savior and then you believe I find him.

You know, it's not necessary to confess. Just here. But when you're walking down the street and God's love, have you been telling people about God? If we were all doing that as best we can, we probably get a few more of these seats filled up. Don't miss an opportunity to do that. And partly also is, after you've done those first four things, have you been baptized

Have you washed away? Noseeums.

Then after you do all that, which most of us in here have already done that.

But we've done it all. Only say this if we continue and remain faithful to the Lord,

If you can't remain faithful, if you can't make him your priority. When you're slipping need to re-examine.

Continue to confess him. Continue to hear the word, continue to repent of your sins because just because you were baptized doesn't mean you stops.

You know, that's the old adage, you know, Christians are all a bunch of Hypocrites. Now we're just forgiving, we all send. People outside this building people inside this building. If you carry around hatred, in your heart for anybody, you're sanding,

even if they're the most vile creature in the world, you're supposed to love them. So, if you're done those things, you can be safe.

If anybody here? Want to take this opportunity to seek out that baptism or if anybody here just needs prayers of the congregation. Please feel free to come forward as we stand and see.
