Miracles: Part Five – There’s a Miracle for Your Finances
Three Keys to Receiving a Financial Miracle:
1) Obey God’s Word(1 Kings 17:8-10).
a. 1 Kings 17:8 Then the word of the Lord came to him,
b. 1 Kings 17:9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to feed you.”
c. 1 Kings 17:10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Bring me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.”
i. Malachi 3:10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lordof hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.
2) Put God First (1 Kings 17:10-14).
a. 1 Kings 17:11 And as she was going to bring it, he called to her and said, “Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”
b. 1 Kings 17:12 And she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. And now I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it and die.”
c. 1 Kings 17:13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said. But first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterward make something for yourself and your son.
d. 1 Kings 17:14 For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth.’ ”
e. Matthew 6:31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
f. Matthew 6:32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
g. Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
3) To Receive a Blessing, You Need to Be a Blessing (1 Kings 17:15-16).
a. 1 Kings 17:15 And she went and did as Elijah said. And she and he and her household ate for many days.
b. 1 Kings 17:16 The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by Elijah.
c. Luke 6:38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
d. Proverbs 11:24 One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.
e. Proverbs 11:25 Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.
