Good morning! Welcome to Freedom Chapel. My name is Pastor Terry and I am the lead Pastor here at Freedom Chapel. If you are new with us this this morning thank you for joining us. I have some exciting news this morning we are working to make things a little easier for every one. Check out this new slide. If your a guest or you have never filled out the welcome card you can now do it on your phone.
I have some exciting News!
We were able to purchase two pieces of Playground Equipment for 50% off this week at the State Fair.
Thanks to the Fireworks Tent, Money Given to the Dream Fund and Our savings we were able to cover Equipment.
We have a rule around here that states It Will Do Won’t Do! Just buying playground equipment won’t do. We want to create a space out here that is both Safe and Attractive. To do That We want to put in a fence around the area and a safety board with mulch. The total cost to finish the project is going to be $13,000. I do not want to be a fundraiser Pastor. I am simply going to share the need and trust the people of this Church to take care of it. That is what the Dream Fund is all about.
If you are on the end of the row with the buckets would you please reach down and pull out the bucket. We are going to pass the buckets to the ushers. Let’s pray over today’s offering.
If you have your Bibles turn with me to Romans chapter 8 We are going to pick up in verse 16
Romans 8:16-18 (ESV)
Romans 8:16–18 (ESV)
16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
As I look back on my salvation I do not recall anyone telling me that there was going to be suffering.
In Fact as I look across the web at some of today’s most influential Pastors I see on YouTube Tell me I should be living My Best Life Yet I read scripture like this and I am reminded
1. Suffering and Glory are Part of the Christian Life

17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.
19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,
13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.
14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.
17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,

The Suffering and Glory of God’s Creation
The Suffering and Glory of God’s Creation
Romans 8:19 (ESV)
19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
Romans 8:20 (ESV)
20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
When King Solomon was search for the Meaning of Life with in the bounds of our Earthly Situation He Concluded:
2 “Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!”
The word Paul uses here which we translate as Futility is the same word used by King Solomon for Meaningless.
Romans 8:21 (ESV)
21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
Romans 8:22 (ESV)
22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
Romans 8:19 (ESV)

The Suffering and Glory of God’s Children
Romans 8:23 (ESV)
23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
2 Corinthians 5:4 (NLT)
4 While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life.
Romans 8:23 (ESV)
23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
Romans 8:24–25 (ESV)
24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?
25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
