The Lord's Prayer - Week 2

Review

· None of this class is meant to create techniques for getting God to answer our prayers.

o Techniques put God in a box and prevent Him from working through us completely.

§ Let the plumber out of the box and get under the sink to what’s leaking!

· Objectives – What did Jesus hope his disciples would learn from the Lord’s Prayer?

· Two translations say God will reward differently; Amplified says “openly” and TPT say “manifestly”

· John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. [1]

· Our Father – an inherited position. Inherited because of God who gave His Only Son.

· If we are to avail much in prayer, we must build the relationship and prayer muscles to get the job done.

o Effectual – Energized

o Fervent – Engaged

o Avails – gives profit or advantage; accomplishes

· We need to move from paranoia to faith!
