1. The nations reject God (verse 1).

a. They conspire to destroy him and his anointed (verse 2).

b. They decree over themselves freedom from his rulership (verse 3).

2. God looks down on them (verse 4).

a. He rejects the decree of the nations (verse 5),

b. and he declares his own righteous decree (verse 6):

i. that his messiah is enthroned (verse 6),

ii. that his messiah has the right to govern (verse 7),

iii. and that his messiah will govern them (verse 8-9).

3. God warns the nations (verse 10):

a. to worship him alone (verse 11),

b. and to submit to his messiah and his instruction (verse 12),

4. So that they may be accepted by him and not perish (verse 12).
