Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth
The main doctrinal concerns that were brought up within this study are as follows.
The approach to the covenants
the second coming
the approach to Abraham’s works and saving faith
translation and interpretation of Eph. 2:8-9
other concerns that were not brought up
the need for repentance from sin as a requirement for salvation( as stated on Mrs. Wolgemuths Doctrinal statement)
usage of Galatians 3:10
I believe that Bre was very polite in her approach to each of the concerns that were brought to attention, and it appeared that the dialogue between Sarah and Bre was positive for the most part. Yes, the Sunday before the study that the bulk of the doctrinal concerns were in, it happened that they fit in with the teaching for that Sunday and in the hopes that a difference in the two positions would be seen and hopefully spur on more in depth study of the contradicting positions, I taught the Truth of the Word on those topics, which has obviously offended both you and Sarah. Mrs. Wolgemuth’s position was taken as preference over the pastor of Denison Bible Church in the women’s study.
My intention was not to offend, but to clarify what God’s Word says to those matters. My conviction, passion, and confidence in the Word appear to some as arrogance and pride. God knows my heart and it is before Him that I will stand to hold account for my motives and actions. In performing the duties of an under-shepherd for the almighty God, I am in sincere awe and humility of His choice to gift me as a pastor-teacher, as I fail tremendously as simply a man in His service.
If my handling of this situation offended you or Sarah, you should have approached me directly to discuss the situation before it escalated to the point it is now.
As it stands, per your behavior towards me during the elder meeting. Your participation in airing of your grievances about me in a bitter and slanderous way with Carol after church. Which I witnessed part of it both by sight and hearing as Bre and I were only one pew away from you picking up our Bibles after church. It is apparent that you have allowed a root of bitterness towards me to fester, and have now fueled an already brewing fire with other people.
