What love Got to do with it
What love Got to do with it
John 3:13-18 “No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”

This was Tina Turner's comeback song. She first hit the pop charts with her husband Ike in 1960, and their biggest hit came in 1971 with a cover of "Proud Mary." After enduring years of spousal abuse, Tina split from Ike in 1976 and her career was in limbo until "What's Love Got To Do With It" thrust her back in the spotlight 13 years after "Proud Mary." More hits followed, cementing her status as a music icon.
Tina Turner, original name Anna Mae Bullock, (born November 26, 1939, Brownsville, Tennessee, U.S.), American-born singer who found success in the rhythm-and-blues, soul, and rock genres in a career that spanned five decades.
Ike and Tina Turner

Turner was born into a sharecropping family in rural Tennessee. She began singing as a teenager and, after moving to St. Louis, Missouri, immersed herself in the local rhythm-and-blues scene. She met Ike Turner at a performance by his band, the Kings of Rhythm, in 1956, and soon became part of the act. She began performing as Tina Turner, and her electric stage presence quickly made her the centrepiece of the show. The ensemble, which toured as the Ike and Tina Turner Revue, was renowned for its live performances but struggled to find recording success.
That changed in 1960, when “A Fool in Love” hit the pop charts, and a string of hit singles followed. Ike and Tina were married in 1962, although the date is subject to some speculation (during the couple’s divorce proceedings in 1977, Ike claimed that the two were never legally married). The Phil Spector-produced album River Deep—Mountain High (1966) was a hit in Europe, and its title track is arguably the high point of Spector’s “wall of sound” production style, but it sold poorly in the United States. Ike and Tina’s final hits as a couple were the cover version of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Proud Mary” (1971) and “Nutbush City Limits” (1973). Tina divorced Ike in 1978, alleging years of physical abuse and infidelity.
The song that Tina Turner song what love Got to do with it became a major hit as a movie about Tina life because in this song it would appear that she was questioning love because of the abuse she suffered at the hand of her husband. Many of you that are sitting in here today at one time or another had a bad experience with someone who said that they love you. I’m sure you wonder what kind of love is this base on how they showed you there affection. May be they were not willing to go the extra mile or whisper something in your ear that gave you goose bumps. May be they never just call to say they love you or did that favorite thing that you normally ask them to do and you wonder if they really appreciated you or love you. For some of you it may be that they did not spend that quality time with you or show you any major affection. For others of you that are dating you may wonder if the thrill is gone?F or you that are teenagers you may ask yourself how can my parents say they love me and not understand my need for space or freedom. They just don’t understand I have a young life to live. For others of you you may ask why isn’t this person willing to make the sacrifices he or she once made when you both became a couple. Most of will agree that Love is complicated. Love is so complicated that the Greeks had sever
As we look at the narrative of the text John
English Standard Version (Introduction)
The Gospel of John was written to persuade people to believe in Jesus (20:30–31). The opening verses declare that Jesus is God, stressing his unique relationship with God the Father. The book focuses on seven of Jesus’ signs (miracles), to show his divinity. Jesus called people to believe in him, promising eternal life. He proved he could give life by raising Lazarus (ch. 11) and by his own death and resurrection. John features Christ’s seven “I am” statements, his encounters with Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman, his Upper Room teachings and washing of the disciples’ feet (chs. 13–16), and his high priestly prayer (ch. 17). It includes the most well-known summary of the gospel (3:16). The author was probably the apostle John, writing about A.D. 85. John the disciple that Jesus loved is writing to show the divinity of Jesus as the Christ . as we look at the text we find that in the first chapter of John. John began to share the origin of Jesus and identifies him as the word made flesh. John shares that Jesus was the word made flesh which correlates with Genesis chapter 1:1 in the beginning was the word. The second thing we see in chapter one is John the Baptist answering the Jews Levi’s and Priest concerning the fact that he was not the messiah, we also see in chapter one John testifies of Jesus and his disciples began to follow Jesus. Jesus also calls phillip and Nathaniel to follow him. In chapter 2 Jesus changes water into wine, he also get rid of the money changers out of the synagogue. When we enter the chapter 3 we find that Jesus has begun a discussion with Nicodemus Jewish ruler and a Pharisees. The name "Pharisee" means "separated one." The Pharisees separated themselves from society to study and teach the law, but they also separated themselves from the common people because they considered them religiously unclean. Jesus shares with Nicodemus that he must be born again and that he can not enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of spirit which in this context the third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit, coequal, coeternal with the Father and the Son sometimes referred to in a way which emphasises his personality and character (the \\Holy\\ Spirit) sometimes referred to in a way which emphasises his work and power (the Spirit of \\Truth\\). Nicodemus does not understand what Jesus is saying because Jews believed all jews would enter the kingdom of God through the resurrection on the last day the only exception if one denied the faith or committed apostasy. To be born a Jew was to be an inheritor of the kingdom of God. Nicodemus did not understand because of his concept of what was the kingdom of God phyiscally and Jesus was speaking in a spiritual since.
