Acts 4 12 No Other Name

Text: Acts 4:1- 14

Intro: Apostles on trial for healing of the Lame man At the Temple Gate. Peter tells the elders that they have crucified the Messiah (v10)

1.        The Cause of the Trial  (v9) If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

a.        Hated for Good works

                                                               i.      Still today – We Want to make Better

                                                              ii.      They still want to remove His name!!!!

2.        The Bold Statement (v12)

a.        Mark 13:11 “But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.”

b.        Voids their beliefs

                                                               i.      Sadducees – No Resurrection - Needed

3.        “Salvation”/”Saved”

a.        Needed – All have sinned

b.        “Salvation” = so·tay·ree·ah = deliverance, preservation, safety, salvation.

c.        “Saved” = sode·zo = Make Whole or Heal

                                                               i.      Includes healing

4.        What’s In A Name

a.        (List Below) Psalm 72:19; Proverbs 18:10; 22:1; John 1:12; Acts 4:12; Philippians 2:9,10

5.        There Is No Other

a.        John 14:5-6 “Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
