Introduction:
Introduction:
1. We are deceiving ourselves if we believe we can continue in unrighteousness (sin) and inherit the kingdom of God.
1. We are deceiving ourselves if we believe we can continue in unrighteousness (sin) and inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?
2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
Body:
Body:
1. We can’t be dead to sin and alive to sin at the same time.
1. We can’t be dead to sin and alive to sin at the same time.
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
2. We are deceived if we believe that we can be friends with the world and God at the same time.
2. We are deceived if we believe that we can be friends with the world and God at the same time.
33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
34 Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
A. Friendship with the world is enmity with God.
A. Friendship with the world is enmity with God.
4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
3. Sin will not inherit kingdom of God.
3. Sin will not inherit kingdom of God.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
4. Sin is not fitting for the Christian and should not even be named among us.
4. Sin is not fitting for the Christian and should not even be named among us.
1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.
2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;
4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.
Conclusion:
Conclusion:
1. If we don’t believe the truth we will believe the delusion.
1. If we don’t believe the truth we will believe the delusion.
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
