Your will be done
Robert, don't get too comfortable! Exodus 5:18-23 Now get to work. You will not be given any straw, yet you must produce your full quota of bricks." The Israelite foremen realized they were in trouble when they were told, "You are not to reduce the number of bricks required of you for each day." When they left Pharaoh, they found Moses and Aaron waiting to meet them, and they said, "May the LORD look upon you and judge you! You have made us a stench to Pharaoh and his officials and have put a sword in their hand to kill us." Moses returned to the LORD and said, "O LORD, why have you brought trouble upon this people? Is this why you sent me? 23 Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble upon this people, and you have not rescued your people at all." The story of the Exodus is a story of miracles – yet in the beginning, when Moses first appeared before Pharaoh to deliver the children of Israel from 400 years of slavery, the Israelites were severely tempted and became angry because of the initial hardships that were laid upon them. They leveled their anger at Moses because suddenly they were told that they would have to gather their own straw for making bricks. They were concerned about offending their slave-masters, fearing that they would slay them. The Israelites were so accustomed to their slavery that they didn’t want their lives disrupted despite the fact that freedom was at hand. Resigned to this miserable life, they utterly failed to apprehend or appreciate the freedom that was soon approaching. Yes, there was a temporary price: increased hardship and great pressure would set the stage for their final deliverance. The same can happen to us. It has often been said, "The darkest night is just before the dawn"... Perhaps the enemy senses his impending defeat and pulls out all the stops to prevent it. Perhaps the Lord loves a good story with a really dramatic and climactic ending and great glory for His Name...in any case -- friends, don't let yourself remain accustomed to any form of bondage – seek and believe for the freedom that God has given us through His Son. Expect a life of great victory over sin and demonic oppression - Why? Because that is His promise to us! Your family in the Lord with much agape love, George, Baht Rivka, & Obadiah Baltimore, Maryland
And this is another fine day in the Lord!
When the Israelites left Egypt they had a destination. It was the Land flowing with Milk and Honey. Nowhere in scripture did Moses try to convince that Egypt was really that place or the wilderness was that place flowing with Milk and Honey, but it was that which was on the horizon, if they would keep the faith.
Same with the Kingdom to come. This world is not the kingdom, but this world is where the kingdom is to come. it is an earthly Kingdom set up by God to fulfill and complete the conditional purpose of Genesis 1:26-27
It is the kingdom that is fulfilled in The dream that Daniel interpreted.
Daniel 2:44 (NASB95) — 44 “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.
When asked, Jesus did not tell his disciples that the kingdom was already here.
Acts 1:6–7 (NASB95) — 6 So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority;
If in fact we think that this world is the Kingdom, that the promises have been fulfilled then we have nothing to expect and should be satisfied with the conditions of this world as our lot, as the Israelites were settled in their lot being enslaved to Egypt.
Stop allowing false doctrine to redefine what the word of God clearly says that the kingdom of God truly is.
So when someone says that we are living in the kingdom, Just ask where is it, for nothing in this world yet points to the kind of kingdom scripture describes it to be.
Isaiah 11:1–16
Now that day is coming, the establishment of Christ’s earthly reign. And I believe it’s very near and Satan knows it.
Oh, but Satan will not go down without a fight.
There is coming a final showdown prior to the establishment of the kingdom between God and Satan. Between God’s Christ and Satan’s man the Antichrist.
Even Satan, I’m sure knowing it is close as the world administration under a one world government is in the works. A Government that the antichrist will step into to rule the world until his rule is shattered by the fist of God.
Psalm 2:1–12
That day will come.
It is that day that we are to pray not for, because it will come whether we pray for it or not but pray in the light of.
Matthew 6:10 (NASB95) — 10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
1.82 βασιλείαb, ας f: an area or district ruled by a king—‘kingdom.’[1]
30.59 θέλημαb, τος n: (derivative of θέλωa ‘to purpose,’ 30.58) that which is purposed, intended, or willed—‘will, intent, purpose, plan[2]
And then the aorist passive imperative
13.80 γίνομαιa: to come into existence—‘to be formed, to come to exist[3]
The “passive” rules out the efforts of the Church to usher in the Kingdom. The Kingdom is a part of redemption is the work of God. But that does not mean that the Believer is left to be idol for we were created for good works that we should walk in them. Those works are to be evaluated at the Judgment seat of Christ related to productivity of the spiritual lives. We can read in the book of Acts that the early church was quite busy in the care of others who were in need committing themselves to prayer and study and meeting the needs of others while.
We are to pray for that day.
When we pray, your kingdom come your will be done, it is a declaration to the Lord that we are standing on that hill with full assurance that God’s will, will be done.
The prayer was prayed by our Lord in the garden on the night of his betrayal.
Luke 22:42 (NASB95) — 42 saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”
IN this prayer we are reminded that it is to God’s glory that it is His will that is being upheld.
First in our lives. Lives that are sold out for the Glory of God. It is going where God would have me to go. To do what God would have me to do and to be what the Lord would have me to do.
“Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Through the trials and through the tribulation through the insults and the persecution it is your will be done, Father.
Secondly it is full assurance of the future kingdom as a motivation to continue our journey though the wilderness to the land flowing with milk and honey. Metaphorically speaking.
Joshua, and Caleb held on to the promise of that land. They did not turn from it and hope for some cheap substitute or to long to go back to Egypt but kept their eyes on the prize and God did not disappoint them as it was these two out of a whole generation of people who entered into that Land.
“Your will be done,” is the holding on to the promise in prayer that no evil can stand against God’s will, God’s purpose, God’s plan.
Praying for the kingdom to come and it will come gives the family of God the privledge of being included in the plan of God for the establishment of the kingdom.
The result of the coming kingdom is that rebellion that had come to this world will be put down. Satan and his minions will be locked away in the Abyss for one thousand years. The Lord will at that point set up his administration upon this earth. With him will be His faithful one’s to rule with Him.
No, everyone who calls themselves, “Christians will wear crowns and will have rulership functions in the kingdom.
Psalm 15:1–5 (NASB95) — 1 O Lord, who may abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill? 2 He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, And speaks truth in his heart. 3 He does not slander with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor takes up a reproach against his friend; 4 In whose eyes a reprobate is despised, But who honors those who fear the Lord; He swears to his own hurt and does not change; 5 He does not put out his money at interest, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.
2 Timothy 4:8 (NASB95) — 8 in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Revelation 2:26–27 (NASB95) — 26 ‘He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations; 27 and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to pieces, as I also have received authority from My Father;
Those that were faithful in this life will rule with Christ in the Kingdom.
Praying in regards to the coming kingdom keeps our spirits in tune even in the darkest of days that God’s glorious kingdom is just on the horizon.
Even Moses along with the whole population of Israelites failed to enter into the Land flowing with milk and honey. The only two who entered were Joshua and Caleb, Might it be that many a born again believers will lose sight of the kingdom as did those that failed that day and lose out on God’s reward of the Kingdom to come?
