I. They Were Judged Because of a Lack of godly Influence: Gen. 18:20-33

A. Abraham went to God for the people, and negotiated. There was 10 godly people. There was 1, and he was so backslidden that he was useless! (John Leland and Thomas Jefferson/ godly influence ex)
B. Lot was considered godly but useless. II Pet. 2:7-9

and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,
C. Eventually, people either don’t look the part at all, or they look the part but its all about them. II Tim. 3:5

They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

II. They Were Judged Because They Heaped Judgement on Themselves: Rom. 1:18-32

A. When you sin, you will either repent or get to the place where you are judged when you cross the line to a point of no return.
B. They will worship creation, not the creator.
C. Degrading passions: homosexuality
D. No acknowledgement of God.
E. This list is something we tolerate.

III. They Were Judged Because They Refused to Repent: Gen. 6:5-6

A. It finally gets to the point that not only is truth not tolerated, it’s banned. You will go to jail or worse.
B. For the believer who goes too far, they will die because of sin, or live with the irreparable damage from their sins.
C. SO will there be enough righteous people to save this church, much less this nation.
