Introduction

Times like these are hard
It is a good time to do some introspection
Times like these we can seek the Lord for peace and comfort
Times like these should move us to consider where we are with the Lord because He is coming back!

The bible speaks of death

One of the best ways to prepare for death is to know about it. . .what you know will save you!
Understand that death is a separation. This separation brings and end to a union and this result in the phenomenon called death.
PHYSICAL DEATH
James 2:26 “For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.”
A road we all must walk becuase of the fall Gen 2:17 “but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”” “For in Adam all die 1 Cor 15:22.
SPIRITUAL DEATH
This death is when a person becomes disconnected from God because of sin
Isa 59:1-2 “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short That it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.”
Eph 2:1 “And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,”
ETERNAL DEATH
To be forever separated from God in eternity
Matt 25:46 ““These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.””
2 Thess 1:9 “These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,”

The Good News is Jesus came to save us from ALL THREE

REDEMPTIVE DEATH
We know Rom 6:23For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Rom 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
In Christ we have life 1 Cor 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.”
Sin is what gives death it’s power and its sting. . .What if someone could deal with your sin problem so you won’t have a death problem
Rom 6:3-7 “Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin.”
The problem with death is sin. . .But Jesus handles that problem of sin.
The issue of fear is real because of death. . .But Jesus handles that problem too.
