The author of Hebrews is making it clear that in regards to your salvation you are either drifting out of neglect or you are growing out of deliberate effort. The author makes it clear that we Christ offers a great salvation and there are consequences for neglecting it, and we are all in danger of drifting from it.

Hebrews 2 begins with the first of 5 warnings given in the book. The author says in verse 1, “We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.” Let’s see how this warning about the danger of drifting applies to us today. In this secular, anti-theist, amoral world we live in, perhaps drifting has never been easier.
