The Heart of the Gifts
(1 Corinthians 12)
We Should Not Be Ignorant About The Gifts Of The Spirit (Vs 1)
Ignorant: means, not to know, or have no knowledge of something.
Many Christians today are not familiar with the gifts of the Spirit and how they work
Paul says “I DO NOT WANT you to be ignorant about these Spiritual Gifts.”

Paul knew that this young church could get caught up in all kinds of spiritualism
It’s not much different today!
We see people running after one spiritual high after another.
Always wanting to get blessed, but never growing, never serving, bring forth no fruit in their lives.
When they no longer have that spiritual high they feel lost, discouraged, and some even walk away from the faith.
They feel as if God had abandon them.
The Gifts Of The Spirit SHOULD ALWAYS Bring Glory To Christ (vs 3)
There Will Be False Displays Of Power And We Need Discernment
The Source Of The Different Gifts Is The Same Spirit, Same Lord, Same God(vs 4-6)
All of the gifts that we will begin to study are given by Holy Spirit.
Understand you can’t buy the Holy Spirit or the Gifts of the Spirit.
Simon the Sorcerer - Trying to buy the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Manifestation Of The Spirit Is Given To Help Each Other (vs 7)
The gifts of the spirit are for glorifying Christ and for helping others.

Is your heart in the right place?
Why are you seeking the Gift’s?
(Simon the Sorcerer - Trying to buy the power of the Holy Spirit).
Our main reason for wanting to be used in the Gifts, should be the same as the Holy Spirits, that is to testify about Christ.
