2. Satan does not want you to forgive yourself.
If you have ever struggled or know someone that has struggled with looking at things on the internet that are not honoring to God the same story Satan’s play book is the same.
Satan tempts: Go ahead and look at it.
It is not going to hurt anybody.
No one will know.
You are good most of the time and you deserve this.
Then he moves from cheerleader to prosecutor.

Satan knows if he can keep you in your guilt and your shame you will be less effective in your witness for Christ, and helping others.

Trying to help others in a area in which we ourselves struggle.

Some ppl think it is admirable to say that they hate themselves.

One of the most Godly men at my last church would not accept a position on our church board because of a past sin (when he was in his 20’s / now in his 60’s) he had confessed to God and his spouse.
But he could not forgive himself.
Satan in trying to hold you back.

Guilt of the past is crippling, effecting our minds and our emotions.
Dr. Fredrick Perls, who was a humanistic psychologist, used to say that he could heal any psychopathlogy in one hour if he could get his clients not to feel guilty.

Have you ever had a pebble in your shoe or sandal?
The tiniest of rock can agitate and give discomfort.
What do you do when you have this agitation that keeps bugging you?
You stop.
Sit down and you remove it.
