I Will Protect You

Psalm 91:1–2 (NLT)
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
The word “dwell” used in this verse actually means to take a permanent residence inn. He reminds us to stay in his pre-presents, For it’s a permanent place of living. His word says if we do that, we will rest in the very shadow of the Almighty. Shadows by definition are a place of protection or covering, they provide relief from direct heat of the sun. If the heat is severe, the shade is a place where we run to. It diminishes what we actually feel in the intensity of the heat.
Psalm 91:3–4 NLT
For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
These verses are : A declaration of Gods care for his people:
Psalm 91:5–8 NLT
Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.
The verses are results of God’s care :
we will not fear while dangers come in various forms and at anytime day or night those who trust in him can live without fear.
Psalm 91:9–13 NLT
If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
These verses are the means of God’s care:
One thing that is emphasize throughout the Psalms is, that the promises of safety care or not for everyone; they are reserved for the people of God. The Bible teaches that angels are created by God and used by him for different purposes.
Psalm 91:14–16 NLT
The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
God’s promise of care for His people:
In this final section we hear the voice of God as he reiterates the promises of the psalms. In these three verses God promises his care in seven different ways the point is clear; God offer safety and rescue for those who are his.
