The Invisible Mother

It all began to make sense—the blank stares, the lack of response, the way one of the kids will walk into the room while I am on the phone and ask to be taken to the store. And inside I am thinking, Can't you see? I am on the phone. Obviously not. No one can see if I am on the phone or cooking or sweeping the floor or even standing on my head in the corner because no one can see me at all. I am invisible.

Some days I am only a pair of hands, nothing more. 'Can you fix this? Can you tie this? Can you open this?' Some days I am not a pair of hands; I am not even a human being; I am a clock to ask, 'What time is it?' I am a satellite guide to answer, 'What number is the Disney Channel?' I am a car-to-order—'right around 5:30 please.' I was certain that these were the hands that once held books and the eyes that studied history and the mind that graduated. But now they had all disappeared into the peanut butter never to be seen again. She's going, she's going, she's gone.

Husbands, Fathers, Sons, and Daughters…did you know that your Mother feels unseen?

Mothers tend to only get a response when they mess up, fall short, or ruin your life…lets be dramatic for the young adults today.

My mom didn't let me illegally drive to the prom when i was in high school and that ruined my life!

Mothers to talk to you, Todays a day of recognition but i think its a known thing, on the days of recognition you feel the worst.

Mothers to talk to you, Todays your day, our responses are different, we show you a portion of how much we care about you!

but you still have tomorrow, and the next day. For some in this room you are still waiting on recognition for the 18 years they spent with you they never said thank you

others of you are motherly task you are doing right now as well as in a few minutes when church ends.

Here’s the thing recognition is simply a failed attribute of man.

Mans sense of recognition is flawed, i mean Thats why God created us, yet were always reminded to worship Him.

So today I cant teach how to make someone recognize another, but i can teach what we as individulas should remained focused on.

Did you know there are proper ways to deal with your need of being seen?

Feeling alone is hard for anyone, add the development of a child, the relationship with spouse, the Passion for work, the fun you are always wanting to have on the side.

Feeling alone added on top of the rest of well just life,

if not handled properly will result in damage control

explosion of anger

an awareness of envy

a humiliating clone of shame forming

an overwhelming feat of sadness weighing.

All from the weight of not being seen. Listen for all of us and all around us, because what we dont recieve on our outward person it greatly effects our inner soul.

God hasnt come to effect the outward apparence of who you are....well....not yet at least....

God has come to touch change and drastically modify the inner person living underneath all of the weight you carry.

for the word does say.

1 Samuel 16:7 NIV

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

but dwelling with the depth of an inner person Scripture says.

Matthew 6:6 (NIV)

6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

what is happening inside of your closed doors, what does your internal development look like?

how do we live self controlled lifes?

we seek purity. im talking about looking at things in pure light,

Godly thoughts

purity is the freedom from adulteraction or contamination

adulteration is taking the quality and making it poorer by adding of another substance.

Paul teaches us a list of qualities that are of God rather than those of this world. But we will get to those in a minute.

How do we seek this purity. In a world filled with contamination?

1st we find a new heart.

Psalm 51:10–12 NIV

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

God provides the necessary means for us to walk with a clean and pure heart, but we must also watch over this gift.

Proverbs 4:23 NIV

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

When you decide to watch over your heart..you decide to no longer feed the unhealthy desires of your life..you run away from tempting influences.

For each of us this looks different. For purity is the very thing that distances you from the world.

To achieve it you may find yourself running from

- unhealthy relationships

cleaning out your closet and room from unhealthy items

Changing your job

This isnt something we can take lightly…but its the difference.

Walking with God requires you walking toward purity….

Walking with God requires you walking in Self Control.

But its all worth it.

God says this

Zephaniah 3:17 NIV

17 The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Psalm 33:13–15 NIV

13 From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; 14 from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth— 15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.

2. Set Boundaries

There is a long list that we wont break down, but in our boundaries i want to set an image before us.

For me anyways, when we can visualize our goals they are more obtainable.

For women

be busy at home

be kind

be subject to their husband

For men

show integrity

seriousness

soundness of speech

For both male and female i want to focus in on\

be busy.

this isnt cooking and cleaning yall.

this is stay busy in actively creating your home.

the phrase

Oikourgous: means to be “Workers of the Home”

loosely mentions the domestication of a person working into a home, but that form of usage in this context is rare.

Now remember this is a passage that is directed at newly wed women and men.

So to form a home not a cohabitant.

One of the worst things we did for our marriage in the beginning was have our friend hold a key to our home.

We…I led us to build a hang out spot i was trying to have monica’s house off of friends where everyone can stop over whenever they want.

But i wasn't able to create boundaries for me and my wife in our new home.

I believe in the construction of how paul speaks of the household and how it runs.

The list of teachings to the men are for the household and for the families as well.

this as the man of the home should be taught but its also the womans responsiblities to not only teach but both to uphold these things.

Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 NIV

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

For those who are doing this thing alone then here God is for you

Isaiah 41:10 NIV

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

back to Titus….at the end of both teaching descriptions Titus recieved a warning for both parties. Let’s read them.

We must be this way so that….

Titus 2:5b (NIV)

5 so that no one will malign the word of God.

Titus 2:10b (NIV)

10 so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.

Book Women of the Bible quote pg 14

Tertullian wrote of the spiritual wealth and worthiness of Christian women, and of how their modesty and simplicity was a rebuke to and reaction from the shameless extravagances of the immoralities of heathen women. That they were among the most conspicuous examples of the transforming power of Christianity is manifest from the admiration and astonishment of the pagan Libanius who exclaimed, “What women these Christians have!”

Later in the same book this description is laid out.

“As morals become more lax, and society degenerates, God-fearing wives and mothers are more than ever vital factors in the spiritual elevation of the nation. (Two courses confront every woman today. The one consists of pleasure-chasing, sin-loving, divorce-exalting, and sex perversion all springing from a rejection of Christ: the other course is the noblest and most beneficial for our homes, nation and church namely, that of a God-inspiring devotion which centers in the home, husband and children, and in the scriptures. )

Moral laxity among girls today, and the ever-increaring divorce rate with its progressive polygamy, constitute a call to continuous intercession that God will raise womanhood to the noble heights He intented for all the daughters of Eve…….We begin with the institution, God originally created them for, namely…Marriage….Family…and Religious Services.”

vs 3 says for older woman but lets be honest this is for all of the older generation.

So older women in vs 3 is directly translated the root Greek word being

(Presbytis) it means elder….

some notable scholars would use presbytis in translation to mean a College of Elders.

College is an institution that provides a higher education.

As simple as it should be

lets main this clean and clear now.

Pertaining to older Christian women and men.

if that you, then you must understand the grave responsibility of walking with christ in holiness. No exceptions.

This above statement i have made is all good and all, However there is an underlying issue.

When i speak of the church i speak of the entire Body no one impartial body or persons.

- the enemy has such infiltrated our Christian world we use to live in….its hard to come by a mature older Christian woman and man. We have them in this house. But its sad that today in the culture we live in we have walked so far away from God..that we have allowed the enemy not only to attack our children, but to also!! Be attacking our older families.

Here today in 2023 there is a phenomenon happening…its called the Great Grey Divorce…

did you know the largest growing margin for divorce is over 55 years old.

while divorce rate for 20-30 year olds is decreasing but that is mainly on the majority of Young Adults dont get married until there early 30’s

Men and Women been married 18-20-25-30 years and there child grows up moves out and without being a parent there is no longer a connection…they divorce and move to miami and Los Angeles they begin to travel the world alone seeking confirmation love and acceptance from anyone who looks there way its insane.

According to research by AARP, most gray divorces are initiated by women as they reportedly asked for a divorce in 66% of reported cases, while only 39% of men and 15% of couples jointly decided to end their marriage.

why is this so important to me?

Because there is an agenda..

not by your least favorite politicians they dont hold the power to create such agenda.

not by the woke culturally adaptive and aware society we live in either, for they barely know whats going on themselves.

not by a major corporations nor is it by

This agenda is one that seeks to destroy something imparticular…and that thing is you!

Theres no start, but there has been an end.

Today I want you to read with me the book of Titus Chapter 2 vs 1-8.

So lets look at it.
