Verses 19 and 20 are loaded with a series of verbal forms that move the action ahead with significant speed. The family arises, worships, and goes back (literally, returns and comes back) to their home at Ramah. Elkanah lies with Hannah and the LORD remembers her just as she had requested. Hannah conceives, gives birth, and names the child Samuel. God has acted with speed to give Hannah her request. What remains now, is for Hannah to give Samuel back to God.
