Luke 15:6  And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them,9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers and Saints of God for a few minutes I’d like to talk about the The Lost, The Lute, and The Lad. This is a powerful text because Jesus teaches us that In this life we will experience some lost. In every instance there was lost. A lost sheep a lost coin and a lost son. And all of this came about when unusual folk, un- orthodox folk, un- churched folk came to hear Jesus Because He was saying something different from the established religous order. The Pharisees and the Scribes represented the status quo the established religous organization in Jewish culture. And they mumbled, murmured and complained about Jesus being associated with sinners and then to make matters worst Jesus was eating and fellow shipping with them. Let me teach you something about verse 2 people don’t want to know how much you know until they know how much you care.Let me make it plain The POharisees and the scribes demonstrated over and over that they had their picks and chooses. And if you were not a part of the upper echelon you weren’t anybody to them. But Jesus constantly said come unto to me all that Labor and are heavy ladden and I will give you rest unto your wearied souls. Big difference!!! So Jesus taught them by using 3 parables. And verse 4 says4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? 5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

Jesus is making the argument of verification of value, and of veracity.

Jesus is saying what man you know that loses a sheep don’t go looking for it ? and what Man you know that have a sheep that he doesn’t care about ? and what man that you know isn’t truthful about caring for his sheep? And then when he finds the sheep he lay the sheep across his shoulders and bring it home rejoicing. And somebody shout hallelujah!!! The poor little sheep was lost and to keep it from wandering away again the Shepherd breaks the legs of the sheep so that the sheep will always be dependent upon the Shepherd. The the text says the shepherd throws a party there’s a celebration and there is Joy. You can’t rejoice until there is some Joy in the house. This Joy I have the world didn’t give it to me and the world certainly can’t take it away. The text says in verse 7 that there is Joy over one sinner that repents, More that over the 99 just persons that need no repentance. Because I heard Mrs Livevadan say 99 and half just won’t do She said church I’m trying to make a 100… There ought to be Joy in this house when somebody comes down this aisle and repent and give their life to christ and say what must I do to be saved? Glory to God. And that my brothers and sisters is how the cookie crumbles. Because repentance is a Change of Mind. that means I’ve changed my outlook on the way I use to see things. In Luke chapter 15 and verses 1-7 That was the Lost in the text.

And then verses 8-9 and 10 teaches talks and tells us about the Lute. The Lute is your finances. The Lute is your income the Lute is your money however you get it. The Lute 2x Tell your neighbor:The Lute is Important. The Lute is so important until You just try to live in America without no money. You need money to have basic needs met. And here in the text the Word of God says that a woman had ten pieces of silver and somehow she loses one of the pieces of silver. In ancient times the woman having ten pieces of silver represented that she was now married and so she was required to wear a headband of ten silver coins to signify that she was now a wife. This headband that she wore was the Jewish version of our modern wedding ring, and it would be considered a calamity for her to lose one of those coins.

And so Jesus is making a valid point

Ask me “What the Point Rev? The Palestinian house is dark and the Palestinian house has dirt floors and it easy to lose something on those floors. so the bible says she gets a light and she sweeps and she sweeps and she cleans every inch of her house until she finds the silver coin. When she finds her treasure she calls all her friends and neighbors together and says rejoice with me because I’ve found the silver piece that I’ve been looking for. In other word I found what is going to keep me legitimately married and respectful. and I’ve found an item of great value. And Jesus sums it all up in verse 10 and says and likewise that’s the way it will be in heaven. Because the angels of God are going to rejoice over one sinner that repents. At some point in our lives we have to surrender to God’s will and repent. and for the sake of time that was the Lute in the text. And somebody here needs to get their household in order so that your money doesn’t just go through your hands like holes in your pockets. My moma gave me 50 cents to go to the sweet shop and I walked clean around Mechanicville and when I got to the sweet shop I said Ms.Bonnie Jean I want this and that and she put it on the counter and I looked in my pockets and my pockets had a hole in them!!! I had lost my 50 cents and I couldn’t get no candy. Ms Bonnie Jean gave me sugar daddy and I was happy…Everybody knew everybody and she knew I was a regular. But the point is somebody better put your house in order because money just going through your hands.

And then finally starting at, Verse 11 we have the Lad in the text. The is a famous parable because it’s called the prodigal son story.

And not to keep you too long here, but the story goes that a certain man had two to sons. The younger son asked his Father for his inheritance before his daddy was dead. In Jewish culture this meant that the younger son was disrespectful because to ask for his inheritance before his daddy died meant he actually wished that his daddy was dead. The daddy didn’t smack him didn’t hit him didn’t cuss him out or none of that but he gave his youngest son his inheritance. Yes indeed and as soon as he got his daddy’s money the bible says a few days later left town. He took all his money with him. But I’ve learned to leave something for the rainy day. And In south Louisiana it rains a lot. The bible says the you man is in a far country wasting his precious substance with riotous living. He was foolish with his money. When God has blessed us with financial resources we shouldn’t mess over our blessings. He wining and dining. He laying and playing. He a card shuttling dice playing domino black Jack Hit me with another poker card playing gambler. He setting up rounds and rounds of drinks for everybody in the club. Foolish Living. And the bible says in verse 14 his money got funny and his change got strange. Then there was a famine in the land and there was no food to eat. And now the young son the prodigal son is poor hungry busted and disgusted. And nobody took him in. So now he has to look for a job with one of the citizens of that land. And he went from partying on the top floor in the penthouse to feed pigs in the fields. Boy oh Boy how far the fruit has fallen from the good tree. And sometimes you can do all you can do, and our children still do stupid stuff unholy stuff foolish stuff wicked stuff. and and and God will respect your choices. The bible says in verse 16 that he’s so hungry until he wanted to eat pig slop. And that’s called rock bottom!!! Have anybody ever been to rock bottom. it doesn’t feel too good brothers and sisters. Got a college degree I’m in LA I’ve been on the dating game show and everybody back home had saw me. And now I’m broke as a joke. Ain’t got nowhere to live. Nobody in LA will let you live with them. I ain’t got no job. And God said Go home and preach my word. And this ain’t going to get no better until you do son. And so now it’s decision making time. Now this is where the rubber meets the road. Now this is the reckoning period this is when you ought to change. Verse 17 says  When he realized what he was doing, he thought, ‘All of my father’s servants have plenty of food. But I am here, almost dying with hunger. He’s in a hog pen about to eat pig slop and the bible says in verse 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, 19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And for some people life have to take them that far down before they change. He went down from his Father’s house Down into a far country and strange land. Down into riotous foolish living. the strange land went Down into a famine. He went Down and joined himself to a pig farmer. The pig farmer sent him Down in the hog pen. He was so hungry he stooped Down and was about to eat pig’s slop. He went Down Down Down Down. And brothers and sisters when you’re out of the will of God you’re going in a downward spiral. But there is hope because verse 20 says he pick himself up and got up and got out of dodge when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.Wow what a great dad… The boy disrespected you to your face! took all your money, and wasted it on wine, women, and song and now he’s coming back in rags! Not riches but the Daddy runs to his youngest boy and falls on his neck and says to his servants Bring the best robes and get the family ring with my crest on it, get his a new pair of the royal shoes to put on his feet. Then go kill the fatted calf. And we’re going too eat, drink, and be merry. And party because ain’t no party like a Holy Ghost party because a Holy,Ghost part don’t stop. yeah yeah yeah 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. Brothers and sisters the significance of the three parables is that they help us understand

1. What it’s like to be out of place because a sheep belongs too a flock.

2. That the silver coin belonged on a chain

3. And the lost sinners belong in fellowship with God. As I close here I don’t want any of us to be lost, because being lost means being out of service. If the sheep is lost it’s of no value to the Shepherd until it is found. The Lost silver coin has no value because you can spend what you don’t have. and then finally the lost sinner cannot experience the enriching fulfillment that God has for us through Jesus Christ.

And then finally don’t be upset because the lost sinners come in out the streets come in out of worldly living and decide to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and savior. Because the Eldest brother got mad when he heard that his little brother was back and that his daddy had given him a party with the fatted calf.

Jealousy is a terrible thing. and that’s the only good reason that I’m speaking of the eldest brother. I get his point . because the eldest brother has been working and keep his daddy’s estate together and prospering and here comes this spoiled brat wasting everything and still getting top notch props as a legitimate heir. And the Father has to tell him that you ought to be rejoicing over you brother coming back… and Long story short the Father represents God. And God is saying in essence that He’s sovereign and He can do what He want When He wants How He wants to Whomever He want as Long as He Wants Because He’s God.
