Secures for glory

Ephesians 1:13 ESV

“Seal” in Scripture

Marked as God’s possession: Ezek. 9:4-6.

God’s mark of protection: Rev. 7:3.

A mark of authenticity: Rom. 4:11.

Therefore, that God’s people have been sealed with the promised Holy Spirit communicates the fact that they belong to God, protected by God, and enjoy a true relationship with God.

Sets apart for God’s purposes

2 Thessalonians 2:13 ESV

But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.

Grants gifts for ministry

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

The Holy Spirit Continues to Work
