Genesis 3:1–7 KJV
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
“While sin came into the world through unbelief, salvation comes through belief.”
How does sin usually first start?
Our senses: We see, hear, smell, can taste or can fell what our flesh desires
“I can just hear”, “I can see myself there”, “Can you just imagine if....I/we would feel so much better” and so on
We all have temptations, thoughts and desires; but it is the contemplation, planning and execution on them that is sinful.
Have you ever thought about robbing a bank?
Stealing a car?
Forging a signature?
Contemplated murder? Adultery? Etc?
If you constantly dwell on them, rather than asking God to help you deal with these intrusive thoughts, that is where sin begins.
Romans 8:10–14 KJV
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
We are givin to a “quickening spirit” - Often reference with the resurrection from the dead
For those that are saved, we are new creatures that are alive in spirit walking among the dead in flesh and spirit.
We are born to die. (Our bodies wear out, we grow old)
Hebrews 9:27 KJV
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Nobody wants to die, we are have a natural desire to live forever
