Why Pray?
matt
This is where our Lord Jesus begins to teach us to pray, so let’s examine.
We are given some guidelines here, praise, giving in to Yahweh’s will, provision, forgiveness, deliverance from evil, protection, and a stern warning.
What does prayer really mean?
Remember that most important thing here is the attitude of our heart.
Prayer—is converse with God; the intercourse of the soul with God, not in contemplation or meditation, but in direct address to him.
Prayer may be oral or mental, occasional or constant, ejaculatory or formal.
It is a “beseeching the Lord” (); “pouring out the soul before the Lord” (); “praying and crying to heaven” (); “seeking unto God and making supplication” (); “drawing near to God” (); “bowing the knees” ().
Prayer presupposes a belief in the personality of God, his ability and willingness to hold intercourse with us, his personal control of all things and of all his creatures and all their actions.
Acceptable prayer must be sincere (), offered with reverence and godly fear, with a humble sense of our own insignificance as creatures and of our own unworthiness as sinners, with earnest importunity, and with unhesitating submission to the divine will.
Prayer must also be offered in the faith that God is, and is the hearer and answerer of prayer, and that he will fulfil his word, “Ask, and ye shall receive” (, ; ; ; , ), and in the name of Christ (16:23, 24; 15:16; ; ; ; ).
Prayer is of different kinds, secret (); social, as family prayers, and in social worship; and public, in the service of the sanctuary.
Here are some examples on how to pray.
Moses implored-begged, pour travail in prayer, cried, pleading mercy.

According to our Heavenly Father we have boldness to come to Him in prayer by the blood of Christ.
The blood of Christ gives us access to the throne of grace.
Are we using this great blessing to enter in to the throne of grace.
Why don’t we Pray.
Will it work for me.
Can I do it.
What’s it worth to me.
What will it cost me?
I believe this is the one area besides faith that blocks us the most, you see it will cost you!
Time, sleep, energy, and above all faith, to believe that is able and willing to answer your prayers!
We don’t think we have time.

PRAYER Communion with God, usually comprising petition, adoration, praise, confession, and thanksgiving.
The ultimate object of prayer in both OT and NT is not merely the good of the petitioner but the honor of God’s name.
We don’t think it is important.
Prayer.
The addressing and petitioning of God.
Prayer to a god or gods is a feature of many, if not all, religions, but here attention will be restricted to the biblical teaching and some of its implications.
A classic definition of Christian prayer is “an offering up of our desires unto God, for things agreeable to his will, in the name of Christ, with confession of our sins, and thankful acknowledgement of his mercies” (Westminster Shorter Catechism).
Christian prayer is the end product of a long process of change and development in God’s relation to men, as a survey of the biblical data shows.
We don’t believe that it makes any difference.
Our prayer life and faith must increase to such a degree that no matter what comes our way, our faith in God is ever increasing, even if we don’t see the answered prayer, or Yahweh chooses not to answer our prayer, because sometimes a no is the answer.

So let’s rise to this level of faith that we will need for these end of days battles, that have come are way or it’s coming.
