The Anointing

Foundation Scripture:   Zechariah 4:1-14; Isaiah 10:27;

 

I.       It is the anointing that breaks the yoke

II.      Jesus operated in the anointing

          A.      Luke 3:21-22 Jesus’ baptism with the Holy Spirit

          B.      Luke 4:18-19 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Jesus

          C.      Acts 10:38 Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power

          D.      Christ (Messiah) means “The Anointed One”

          E.      “Christians” – “Little anointed ones”

III.     Jesus told His disciples to be baptized with the Holy Spirit

A.      John 14:12-14 The works that Jesus does we will do also and greater works

B.      John 7:37-39 Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water

C.      1 John 2:27 The anointing abides in you

D.      Romans 8:9 We have the spirit of Christ (the Anointed One)

E.      Luke 24:49  Tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high

F.      Acts 1:6-8  You shall receive power to be witnesses to Me

IV.     The Baptism with the Holy Spirit

A.      The Baptism with the Holy Spirit is the mantle of Jesus for ministry even as Elisha received the mantle of Elijah.

B.      Acts 2:1-4 

V.      The work will be finished by the work of the Spirit (anointing)

A.      Zechariah 4:1-14

B.      What do you see?

C.      Lampstand, a bowl, seven lamps, two trees, two olive branches, two golden pipes that drain the oil

D.      Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord!

E.      Two Trees:  Apostolic & Prophetic

          1.       Moses & Elijah

          2.       Two witnesses

3.       Ephesians 2:20  “having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.
