Verse 21, It is the Sabbath. Jesus has for fisherman disciples with him. And as was Jesus cost him he went to church and began to teach. His teaching was so astounding that the people were all amazed because he didn't teach them the way the teachers of the law did, he taught them as the author of the book.
In the middle of his teaching, and interruption. And it is not just any interruption, it's one of the ambassadors of the evil one. The one he came to do battle with and overcome.
John 10:10 ESV
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
But notice that for Jesus this interruption becomes opportunity.
(NIV)
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
But notice that for Jesus this interruption becomes opportunity.
Notice quickly that this evil spirit knows who Jesus is. He is the holy one of God.

He knows the mission of Christ. "Have you come to destroy us?"

And with the same authority with which he talked he commands this evil one to silence. And calls the evil one from within the man to leave him. Come out of him.

The demon leaves, but not without attempting to to further harm to the man. With a shriek he makes his presence known and at Christ’s command is gone. Where? “out of that man”.
But not without attempting to to further harm to the man and with a shriek he makes his presence known.
Amazement overtakes the crowd. This action and this teaching is so impressive that this congregation of people wonder who is this Jesus!
The amazement overtook the crowd. This action and this teaching so impressed, amazed this congregation of people that they all wondered who this Jesus is regarding his teaching and his power.
Not surprisingly we read in verse 28 news about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.

But this day is not over yet, it is just getting started. Jesus James and John and Peter leave synagogue and go to Simon and Andrew's home.
But this day is not over yet. It's just getting started. Jesus James and John and Peter leave synagogue and go to Simon and Andrew's home.
When they arrive, verse 30, Peter's mother-in-law is in bed with a fever. When Jesus finds out about it he wastes not a moment, verse 31,
Mark 1:31 ESV
And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her, and she began to serve them.

(NIV)
31 So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.
And without a word, only a touch from his hand, Peter's mother is made well . Mark notes so decisive and immediate was this healing, that in the Jesus extends His hand, She is healed, He helps here up as though her illness was never there. And she began to wait on them.
Mark doesn't tell us what takes place throughout the day -perhaps because this is the Sabbath, and Jesus will observe it’s after Simon's mother-in-law is healed, but in verse 32, Mark picks up on what happened that evening as a result of the word that spread about Jesus in the synagogue that morning.
Mark 1:32–34 ESV
That evening at sundown they brought to him all who were sick or oppressed by demons. And the whole city was gathered together at the door. And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. And he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.

The whole town gathered at the door". Capernaum at the time of Jesus was a town of about 1500 people. It's easy for us to imagine that the events that took place in the synagogue that morning were so intense that the people waited until after sunset verse 32 so that they would not break the Sabbath before they brought their people to Jesus.
(NIV)
32 That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. 33 The whole town gathered at the door, 34 and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was.

Mark makes a distinction between all the sick who were brought to him, in verse 32, and the many whom Jesus healed in verse 34. Which would suggest that not everyone who came was healed. But “many” were healed.
One final note about his healings that day, many demons were driven out and he controlled them all. And they knew who Jesus was. James writes,
James 2:19 ESV
You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!
James writes,
Verses 35 through 39 mark the ends of Jesus day. Notice how this day ends.

Mark 1:35 ESV
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.
19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder.
At the end of the this long day, Jesus closes out His day in prayer, in solitude. (Could we learn something from this?)
Verses 35 through 39 are the bookends of Jesus day. Notice how this day ends.

35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
It ends in prayer. (Could we learn something from this).
And finally on this day in the life of Jesus, as a new day is about to begin, Jesus might have been tempted to back to town where His fame was growing quickly, but Jesus, is intent on keeping his mission in front of him, tells Simon and Andrew, James and John,
Mark 1:38 ESV
And he said to them, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.”
And finally on this day in the life of Jesus, when those who came looking for him found him, they reminded Jesus that the crowds are still looking for him. But Jesus who is intent on keeping his mission in front of him, rather than going back to the town,
Healing people is great, but He has a greater purpose. Driving out the demons is important, but His great mission and purpose is to proclaim the good news of God.
(NIV)
38 Jesus replied, "Let us go somewhere else--to the nearby villages--so I can preach there also. That is why I have come."
Jesus will not let anything or anyone stop him from His mission, or take him off course.
(NIV) 13  Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14  I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
He reveals that his purpose is to proclaim the good news of God. So important this is news it must be shared with all. He stays the course he hold onto his focus he keeps design the prize. (Could we learn something from this). Click transfer
