Focus on Purifying Your Life
Purity is one of those subjects that seems to get plenty of attention already, but with the release of “50 Shades of Grey”, I started thinking about the need to mark it in my Bible.
And here’s why–purity is not just a goal for the young and unmarried.
It’s the standard for every Christian.
No matter what age you are, I imagine you’ve been influenced by, subjected to, or even tempted by impurity in some way recently.
That’s the nature of the world in which we live.
In the front of your Bible, write:
Purity-
– YOUR SIN WILL BE EXPOSED
While Moses is addressing a specific sin in a specific situation, the warning still applies today.
This is an especially good reminder for certain hidden sins.
Underline “be sure your sin will find you out.”
In the margin, write “(see also ).”
At the end of the verse, write .
– PRAY FOR A PURE HEART
This is the psalm David wrote after being convicted of his guilt, part of which was sexual in nature.
Underline “create in me a clean heart.”
At the end of the verse, write 101:3.
– NEVER LOOK AT ANYTHING DIRTY
Underline “I will set no worthless thing before my eyes” and “it shall not fasten its grip on me.”
At the end of the verse, write 119:9.
– HOW CAN A YOUNG PERSON STAY PURE?
LIVE THE WORD
Underline the entire verse.
