INTRODUCTION:

1. If I knew that I was going to die tomorrow and I could only preach one more sermon, what would I want you to know?

A. This was the question going through my mind as I prepared this lesson.

1. What would I want to be the last thing you heard from me?

2. What would I want my legacy to be?

3. What did I think was the most important message I could convey?

B. As I wrote this lesson, I tried to imagine that this was my circumstance and I only had one more day, one more sermon. As I did, I could barely hold back the tears as I thought about people whom I wanted to reach with the message of God.

1. Relatives who needed the message of God, but I would not be able to reach them all because there is not enough time.

2. Friends whom I love dearly but they do not know the truth.

3. Co-workers in the past who thought they knew the truth and were saved but were actually far from it.

4. Church family who knew the truth but refused to live it.

5. Church family who were apostate that I have not seen in years.

2. As you listen to what my message would be if I only had one more sermon to preach, consider what your message would be to the ones you love and have not reached, if you only had one more sermon to preach.

A. What would be the most important thing you would say to them?

B. Could you reach them all with the message?

C. Would you be ready, content that you had done your best?

3. Today, I want to share with you what my lesson would be if I only had one more sermon to preach.

A. I would want everyone whom I could tell to know…

1. Who God is.

2. God wants us all to be saved.

3. Jesus loves us all more than we can imagine.

BODY:

1. WHO IS GOD?

A. As we endeavor to learn who God is, we need to remember that we will never fully understand everything about God, but we can know what we need to know about Him from His word.

Isaiah 55:8–9 NKJV
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Isa 55

1. We can know the truth.

John 8:32 NKJV
32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
1

2. We have everything that pertains to life and godliness.

2 Pt. 1.2-3
2 Peter 1:2–4 NKJV
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

B. He is Love, but what does this mean?

1 John 4:8 NKJV
8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
John 8:32–36 NKJV
32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” 33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” 34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
John 8:32 NKJV
32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

1. It means that everything about Him is love, whether He is correcting us, punishing us, judging us, or blessing us.It means that everything about Him is love, whether He is correcting us, punishing us, judging us, or blessing us.

2 Peter 1:3 NKJV
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
Hebrews 12:6 NKJV
6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.”
Proverbs 3:12 NKJV
12 For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
Revelation 3:19 NKJV
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

2. Remember that it is God’s desire for His people to prosper spiritually.

Jeremiah 29:11–13 NKJV
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jer 29

A. Even His correction is to prosper us because He loves us.
