Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Timiharu samsaarkaa jyoti haau. Daa’Daa-maathi basaalieko shahar lukna sakdaina. 15 Na taa maanis-harule bakti baalera paathi-mani raakhdachhan, tara saamadaan-mathi raakhdachhan, ra tyasle ghar-bhitra hune sabai-laai ujyaalo dinchha. 16 Tyasari nai timiharuko jyoti maanis-haruko saamu chamkos, ra tini-harule timi-harukaa asal kaam-haru dekhun, ani swargamaa hunuhune timi-harukaa pitaako mahimaa garun.”
Ye are the light of the world!
Timiharu samsaarkaa jyoti haau.
Light Attracts(taannu)
Light Attracts(taannu)
Yes, Bugs and mosquitoes will come also
In a dark area, if you turn on a light, people will come to that area
There is safety in the light
Things are more easily seen
We can know about what is nearby
We should be like light also
Our lives should show people the way of truth
We should be shining examples
Our lives should give comfort to the poor and needy
Our lives should give help and security
We should be different
A good different
And this difference will shine like a light in the midst of wickedness
(chamkanu)
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
Gan-gan ra tarka-bitarka nagarikan sabai kuraa gara. 15 Ki timi-haru nirdosh ra sojho ho. Tedaa ra bhrashTa pustaa-kaa bicha-maa parameswarkaa nishkalanga santaan-haru ho-o, jun pustaa-kaa bicha-maa jibanko bachan-laai pakrera timi-haru samsaar-maa jyoti-haru-jhai chamkanchhaau; 16 Ra ma byartha-maa dagureko rahenachhu ra byarthamaa mehanata gareko rahenachhu bhani ma KhrishTko dinmaa aananda garna paau’.
Don’t complain,
Nirdosh, sojho,
Different than the world
Different from everyone else
Different from the sin, wickedness, lust(abhilasha)
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Samsaar-laai prem nagar, na taa samsaar-maa bhaekaa kuraa-haru-laai nai. kasaile samsaar-laai prem garchha bhane pitaako prem tyas-maa hu’daina. 16 Kinaki samsaar-maa bhaekaa sabai kuraa-haru - sharirako abhilaashaa, aa’khaa-haruko abhilaashaa ra jibanko sekhi pitaa-baaTako hoina, tara samsaar-baaTako ho. 17 Ani samsaar biti-hanchha, ra tyasko abhilaashaa pani, tara jas-le Parameswarko ichhaa paalan garchha, u sadaa-sarbadaa rahanchha.
Many people take long trips to search for truth
They pay lots of money to learn from gurus
People are seeking the light
But we have the truth
The truth of God’s Word
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Tara jasle satya kaam gardachha, u-chaahi’, aaphnaa kaam-haru Parameswar-maa gariekaa hun bhani dekhaa parun bhanera jyoti-kahaa’ aau’chha.”
People seek the truth
Many people take long trips to search for truth
They pay lots of money to learn from gurus
People are seeking the light
When people seek truth
They will come to the light
They will
Light Repels (dhapaaunu)(dhakelnu)
Light Repels (dhapaaunu)(dhakelnu)
Light repels darkness
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Ani arop yo ho: Jyoti samsaar-ma aaeko chha, ani maanis-harule chaahi’ jyoti-laai bhandaa baru andhakaarlaai prem gare; kinaki tini-harukaa kaam-haru dushTa thie. 20 Kinabhane dushTa kaam garne harekle jyoti-laai ghrinaa gardachha, ra tyaskaa kaam-haru-kaa dosh prakaT nahoun bhanera jyoti-kahaa’ aau’daina.
When people want to do evil
They search for a dark place
People try to avoid light while they steal
People try to avoid light while they are hurting other people
People try to avoid light while they hurt other people
When someone wants to
People try to avoid light while they destroy
Do you want to repel wickedness and evil?
Do you want to
Be a light!
Be the example of righteousness
Evil will go to another place
If you tell people you are a Christian
If you act like a Christian
If you speak like a Christian
People will be different around you
People will not speak wicked words
People will not ask you to drink alcohol
Be a light - repel(dhapaaunu) the darkness!
Light Needs a Source
Light Needs a Source
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Harek asal daan ra harek siddha daan maathi-baaTa-ko ho, ani jyoti-harukaa pitaa-baaTa tal aau’chha, jas-sanga kunai adal-badal chhaina, na taa pariwartanko chaayaa chha.
Our light comes from God
From our heavenly father
The moon’s light is a reflection(paraarwaran) of the sun’s light
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Ani jun samaachaar haamile uhaa’-baaTa sunekaa chhaau, ra timi-haru-laai sunaau’chhaau, tyo yahi ho - Parameswar jyoti hunuhunchha, ra uhaa-maa andhakaar chha’dai chhaina.
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Param-Prabhu mero jyoti ra mero uddhaar hunuhunchha; Ma kas-sanga Daraau? Param-Prabhu mero jibanko bal hunuhunchha; Ma kodekhi Daraau?
For with thee is the fountain of life:
In thy light shall we see light.
Kinaki jibanko mul tapaai-sanga chha; Tapaaiko jyotimaa haamile jyoti dekhnechhaau.
If you are not a believer
You have no source of light
Without your own faith
Without your own relationship with God
You have no source!
First you must come to Jesus for salvation
You must put your faith in Jesus Christ and his work on the cross.
You need a source of light!
The moon(chandra) does not make it’s own light!
The moon’s light is a reflection(paraarwaran) of the sun’s light
(Pratiwimbit)?
To be a strong light
To be a good reflection,
We need to stay close to God
We need to be believers
We need to stay close to God
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Tara jasari uhaa’ jyotimaa hunuhunchha, usari nai haami jyotimaa hi’dchhaau bhane ek-arkaa-sanga haamro sangati hunchha, ra uhaa’kaa putra Yeshu KhrishTko ragaatle haamilaai sab paap-baaTa shuddha paarchha.
How do we walk in the light
We read and obey God’s Word
NUN.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
And a light unto my path.
Tapaaiko bachan meraa paau-harukaa nimti batti, ra mero baaTokaa nimti jyoti ho.
The entrance of thy words giveth light;
It giveth understanding unto the simple.
Tapaaikaa bachan-haruko bhitra pasaaile jyoti dinchha, yasle sidhaasaadaa-harulaai samajh dinchha.
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Haami-sanga bhabishya-bahiko ajha pakkaa bachan pani chha, jaslaai dinko ujyaalo nakhasunjel, ra timi-harukaa hridaya-haru-maa bihaana-ko taaraa naudaaunjel a’dyaaro Thaau’maa chamkine jyoti-laai jhai timi-harule dhyaan diera asal gardachhaau;
We read and obey God’s Word
We pray and talk to God
We do God’s will!
Some believers have found salvation
But they don’t walk in the light
They don’t read the Bible
They don’t pray
They don’t obey God’s commands
They walk in darkness
They are not close to the source of light
They are not good reflections
(Pratiwimbit)
We need to walk in the light
Day by day
Week by week
Month
It is a choice
----------------------------------
Paul experienced Jesus as a light from heaven at his salvation.
At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
Madhyadinmaa, he raajaa baaTomaa maile ghaamko tej-bhandaa pani chamkilo aakaash-baaTako jyoti mero ra ma-sanga yaatraa garne-haruko bari-pari chamkeko dekhe.
