God’s Love brings us to faith in Jesus. Our faith brings us to love others.

3 Witnesses given to us by God:

Water - speaking of an outer cleansing.

IN OT - Levitical Law - you had to be ceremonial cleansed

explain ceremonial cleansing. (whole book of Leviticus - blood, touch dead, sores, cuts, certain food, mildew, leprosy, etc.)

Ezekiel 36:25 NKJV

Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.

Ezek 36:

Hebrews 10:22 NKJV

let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

We no longer have to worry about being ceremonial cleansed because of Jesus.

Blood - speaking of an inward cleansing.

Hebrews 9:14 NLT

Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.

Holy Spirit - speaking of a sealing cleansing

Ephesians 4:30 ESV

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Ephesians 1:13 NKJV

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

2 Corinthians 1:22 NKJV

who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

The role of the Holy Spirit is to reveal the gospel. He is that part of the Trinity who convicts of sin, leads to Christ, baptizes into Christ, and forms Christ in the believer (cf. John 16:7–15).

1. To not believe - you call God a liar.
