The question is asked and it is a clever one: The back story here is that Jews were under the rule of Pagan rome.
The bible tells us to honor authority but the Jews would turn on him if he were to say to pay taxes to an unbelieving pagan.
So they think they have him on the ropes.
The world likes to ask unfair questions: Have you stopped beating your wife?
Do you believe in Gay marriage or do you believe that not everyone has the right to love?
Do you believe in a woman’s right over her body or do you think the government can control what she does with it?
